Agreed. And by making the list in this manner, the Freep certainly ensured a bunch of hits that they would not have otherwise gotten. Does it seem silly to rate Gardner so far down? Sure. Does it matter if in the end he's a great college QB? Not a bit.

I don't understand how people can get so worked up about one guy's opinion about the talents of 17-year old HS players. Hell, WE don't know how good these guys will turn out. Why should it matter to us so much what someone else thinks about these guys? It's as if their personal Michigan manhood is questioned because some local writer dared to not acknowledge how obviously AWESOME the U-M recruits are. Who cares.

When's the season going to start, BTW? There's really no new info anymore and we're fighting over table scraps.

I'm not necessarily huge on Rivals/Scout rankings in that they frequently don't pan out. Howeva, as guys who live, eat and sleep high school footfall, I think I trust those guys a little more than the moron who complied this list for the Freep. The person's comment at the end of the article probably says it best:

"So let me get this straight...Scout.com has Devin Gardner as being a 5-Star prospect and the 4th best QB IN THE COUNTRY, Austin White as the 13th best RB IN THE COUNTRY, and Ricardo Miller as the 27th best Wide Receiver IN THE COUNTRY!!! Yet, those 3 somehow failed to make the top 5 on this list??? Laughable"

FYI, I edited your post to just include the list and one link. If the Freep wants pageviews, maybe they can hire some journalists with such things as "objectivity" and "fairness." (I'm not accusing bias in this instance, but the list of grievances is certainly long enough).

I agree that Drew probably does not "hate" Michigan. But he's certainly not objective, either. He's the quintessential contrarian who loves to stir the pot and take a position just to get a rise out of people. I purposely never click on any of his links any more. I know his shtick.

Is the author Mick McCabe an MSU alum ? It sure seems that way, placing Nick Hill AHEAD of Gardner. Even Bullough. I can understand Bolden because hes more polished, and Gholston, but not the rest.

Did that negative point total come from the negbang that was the "I was right about Robinson and you can all bite me!" post? Amazing.
