Fred Jackson Facts

In Brian's post today, he discussed longtime runningbacks coach Fred Jackson and his ability to survive a nuclear winter. This fact got me thinking of other Fred Jackson facts that I would like to share with you. Of course, I am not as awesome as Fred Jackson so I don't know all the facts. Hopefully many fellow MGO-Users can inform the community about Fred Jackson facts I have overlooked.

  • Fred Jackson pioneered the forward pass
  • Fred Jackson brought the winged helmet to Michigan
  • Fred Jackson can bench press as much as Jake Long
  • Fred Jackson's sports knowledge knows no boundaries. He trained Darius Morris all summer on the finer points of dribble penetration
  • The Big Chill was Fred Jackson's idea
  • So was YouTube

So are there any other Fred Jackson facts I have missed?

Fred Jackson is one of a very select group of individuals qualified for an internet meme. He's like a more talented version of keyboard cat, more gruff than epic beard man, and I guarantee you if he were in Mobile Alabama he would have found the leprachaun. And the gold.

I love Freddy j more than most people, and I gotta wonder if you guys are flirting with the line between laughing with him and laughing at him. He's a positive guy and loves his players, always looking for the good in people. I'm bit saying you are going overboard, but sometimes it seems like some people are making fun of him, which is not very chill, brah.

Fred Jackson has been with the program since 1992! He is loyal and a solid coach. So what if his quotes on running backs stretch the truth. Fred Jackson is the fucking man and he deserves this thread. BTW, I am very glad to see is coming back (obviously.)
