Jackson emulator says:

"icefins26 has the total skill set.  His firing ability reminds me a lot of Donald Trump, he's short in his words and hits the point quickly, with better hair.  Very powerful.  His hiring ability - don't overlook that - the guys that come to mind when I watch icefins26 tape  - he's a cross between Denard Robinson, just his ability to get everyone he interviews to smile and relax, and Oprah Winfrey, you saw it with Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz, same with icefins26 - everyone he hires turns to absolute gold.  No weaknesses at all.....Benefits? He's a lot like an undead Nelson Rockefeller, except more philanthropic."

Jackson emulator says:

"No - well done BY YOU.  It's my honor to modestly espouse the greatness of the most distinguished HR guy of my generation.  To say "well done" - you have the pound-for-pound kindness of Mother Teresa, except you're twice her size, and four times as kind."

This is Freddy J's 22nd season. The longest serving assistant was Wally Weber at 29 seasons. Fred is 63 years young.

Does he break Weber's record?

He reminds me of Weber, but with better coaching technique and he really relates to his athletes. If there's an opening, he's in there coaching. He hits it hard and never let's up. I think he's even better than he was in the 90's. He's stronger, faster, leaner, smarter. He's like Weber, but fast.

“You’ve got some really good running backs that, none of them shy away from nothing. They’ll all run through you, they’ll all block you, they all can catch, I mean, they all have got pretty good smarts so, it’s going to be interesting.” - Fred Jackson, at the end of the article

I do like the confidence from Fred quite honestly.

I need Fred Jackson at my year-end review around Christmas, come to think of it. "He shies away from nothing, runs right through projects and catches problems. I mean, he has pretty good smarts, it's going to be interesting."

The guys who used to sit behind me in the Big House played high school ball for Fred Jackson and said not only was he an awesome dude but a remarkable athlete. According to them he could throw a football on the run further than anyone who set up and stepped in to their throw that they ever saw. I take that with a grain of salt but lets just agree he was like John Elway throwing a vortex, but fast.

"I told them that the sun rises and falls on your behind."  --Fred Jackson

At first I thought this was a reference to Derrick Green's added weight.  Then I thought that perhaps this was a "your mama" joke I hadn't heard before.

I love quotes that can stand alone out of context!

A Fred Jackson retirement would be catastrophic...  by my (totally unscientific) calculations, his comments account for / inspire approximately 30% of this site's user generated content and I'm not sure what would fill the void.  Urban?  Dantonio lying in the weeds / recruiting intergalactically?  Uniformz?  Eugene / Rojo / Diggs / Garnett / Isaac / Treadwell updates?

“I know that when I saw him on the high school film, he was 240. He’s a big guy. You got to look at him from the back and the side -- that’s a huge human being.”

Love him.
