Top Gun name references, I would humbly request that we don't refer to LF as "Goose", as the last thing we want for him is to get ejected into an airborn canopy of an F-14.

but I still believe he is seriously interested. I can't imagine having so much attention on me whether or not I took a plane flight a certain weekend.
From a recruiting standpoint, yes, it'd suck if he can't make it. But from what Steve Lorenz has heard so far, it is a very legitimate reason, which any recruit would cancel a visit for. So I just hope all is well for him and his family (rumor is that his grandma is sick, but there has been no official word on that), and hopefully when everything is better he can come to Ann Arbor and have an awesome visit.

It's odd that those tweets were made on the 21st, yet this sudden "will he, won't he?" situation only seems to have arisen yesterday. I'd have thought someone in the UM recruiting stalkerazzi whould have noticed this earlier in the week and commented on it.
NOTE: I am NOT in anyway suggesting anything "fishy" is going on.
Well I think people started to hear this as early as maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, and I'm sure it's very fluid for them and their family. Imagine you're the Fournette family, you've planned a trip to get really far from LA for a long weekend but then your grandma starts to fall ill. You're kind of the wait-and-see situation to see how she turns out so if you know you can go or so you know you need to cancel.
I'm sure (if this is all true) their family is monitoring the grandma's health and rightfully probably not sharing all the info with every recruitnik who texts them all day every day

way to the airport with his dad according to Sam Webb yesterday afternoon. Flight must have been cancelled due to Les Miles calling in a bomb threat......Serisously though, it's pretty rare for Sam Webb to get bad info and pass it on. He's usually spot on.
To be fair, Sam Webb was just retweeting some guy named Kyle Bogenschutz. He is apparently a writer for the Michigan scout.com site.
Wow, really, that is all Sam Webb is. He is also the host of the unoffical Michigan show on WTKA, he also writes on all things recruiting for the Detroit Paper. Kyle also writes for scout.
On scout it has been confirmed by three different sources (writers) that he isn't coming and the chances of landing him are less 1%.
Think about this for a second. If Fournette himself thought his odds of landing at Michigan were less than 1%, would he have paid for this trip on top of a likely official visit?
In other news, Tim Sullivan is still really defensive.
He had good info and content but his inherent surliness was not one of his better qualities.
I never thought his content was very good either. When I read his stuff on MGoBlog, you could tell he didn't proofread his own posts before they went on the front page, and his writing was never anything more than encyclopedic. Very happy Ace (who I liked a lot on thewolverineblog.com before he came here) replaced him.
He doesn't even have that good of info. He's usually behind the other premium sites, and he lets his emotions affect his reporting.
I know we all miss TomVH, but I can't help but think other than him the Blog's new blood is certainly better on an interaction level (as well as on a writing level).
In his “ITF” regarding Fournette, he said he will post updates because he was in contact with Fournette’s mother.
The next day (today) someone posted a thread asking for an update and asked why Tim left the readers in the dark.
Tim then posts that he never heard back from the mom.
I think some posters gave him grief about not posting any updates. He then responded with a snarky comment along the lines of, “some of you guys care too much about recruiting.”
I think this could have all been avoided if he just posted that he hasn’t been in contact with anyone in the Fournette clan.
