I don't know how the title of the other thread was ever changed to "Fournette Visit Happening" because he is still at home in Louisiana, but still "may be" visiting UofM this weekend.
This is per Tim Sullivan of Rivals in The Fort message board.
That's just Fournette's stunt double. The real LF is currently being transported to a discreet location in Schembechler Hall in a black limo with tinted windows, flanked on both sides by men in black business suits and shades.
Brady Hoke sits alone in his office clutching a walkie-talkie in his thick hands. He murmurs "Maverick, this is Delta Bravo. What is your status? Over"
The crackling reply comes "Delta Bravo, this is Maverick. The goose is on the lake. I repeat. The goose is on the lake. Over"
Les Miles was requesting a fly-by but the tower chief responded "Negative Ghost Rider the pattern is full."
Top Gun name references, I would humbly request that we don't refer to LF as "Goose", as the last thing we want for him is to get ejected into an airborn canopy of an F-14.
Delta Bravo is obviously Dave Brandon's handle.
Just give him Gallons' jetpack. He won't be needing it after this year, the NFL frowns on that kind of thing.
haha, black suits and winged helmets...
That's it? This is the latest we know about it?
Is that your signature or is that the quote from Tim that is suppose to make us believe he ain't here? Either way it's confusing.
It's a sig. It has to do with someone, but not who you think.
does it rhyme with Wagnus?
I'm pretty sure you often exist under the alias "Mr. Rager".
He's having a very hard time getting over me.
Get on a plane and laissez les bons temps rouler en Michigan!
I caught that.
but I still believe he is seriously interested. I can't imagine having so much attention on me whether or not I took a plane flight a certain weekend.
From a recruiting standpoint, yes, it'd suck if he can't make it. But from what Steve Lorenz has heard so far, it is a very legitimate reason, which any recruit would cancel a visit for. So I just hope all is well for him and his family (rumor is that his grandma is sick, but there has been no official word on that), and hopefully when everything is better he can come to Ann Arbor and have an awesome visit.
that would seem to be fairly official
Edit: I'm not fluent in teenager twitterspeak but here are a few
Bless my grandma soul I know she up there watching can't wait to see her grandson blow and her grandson knows

My grandma tryna make it to heaven still living

It's odd that those tweets were made on the 21st, yet this sudden "will he, won't he?" situation only seems to have arisen yesterday. I'd have thought someone in the UM recruiting stalkerazzi whould have noticed this earlier in the week and commented on it.
NOTE: I am NOT in anyway suggesting anything "fishy" is going on.
Well I think people started to hear this as early as maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, and I'm sure it's very fluid for them and their family. Imagine you're the Fournette family, you've planned a trip to get really far from LA for a long weekend but then your grandma starts to fall ill. You're kind of the wait-and-see situation to see how she turns out so if you know you can go or so you know you need to cancel.
I'm sure (if this is all true) their family is monitoring the grandma's health and rightfully probably not sharing all the info with every recruitnik who texts them all day every day
Les Miles has obvsly paid off grandma to feign illness to prevent LF's visit to Ann Arbor.
/s (in case anyone wasn't clear)
So he came, committed and took a red eye back?
This is more stressful than waiting for they royal baby to arrive. How am I supposed to get any work done this week? The Universe can suck it!
way to the airport with his dad according to Sam Webb yesterday afternoon. Flight must have been cancelled due to Les Miles calling in a bomb threat......Serisously though, it's pretty rare for Sam Webb to get bad info and pass it on. He's usually spot on.
To be fair, Sam Webb was just retweeting some guy named Kyle Bogenschutz. He is apparently a writer for the Michigan scout.com site.
Wow, really, that is all Sam Webb is. He is also the host of the unoffical Michigan show on WTKA, he also writes on all things recruiting for the Detroit Paper. Kyle also writes for scout.
You read that incorrectly. "He" in the second sentence refers to Kyle not Sam.
On scout it has been confirmed by three different sources (writers) that he isn't coming and the chances of landing him are less 1%.
Think about this for a second. If Fournette himself thought his odds of landing at Michigan were less than 1%, would he have paid for this trip on top of a likely official visit?
This is all very confusing. I really hope he's still able to make it to the BBQ.
In other news, Tim Sullivan is still really defensive.
He had good info and content but his inherent surliness was not one of his better qualities.
I never thought his content was very good either. When I read his stuff on MGoBlog, you could tell he didn't proofread his own posts before they went on the front page, and his writing was never anything more than encyclopedic. Very happy Ace (who I liked a lot on thewolverineblog.com before he came here) replaced him.
He doesn't even have that good of info. He's usually behind the other premium sites, and he lets his emotions affect his reporting.
I know we all miss TomVH, but I can't help but think other than him the Blog's new blood is certainly better on an interaction level (as well as on a writing level).
In his “ITF” regarding Fournette, he said he will post updates because he was in contact with Fournette’s mother.
The next day (today) someone posted a thread asking for an update and asked why Tim left the readers in the dark.
Tim then posts that he never heard back from the mom.
I think some posters gave him grief about not posting any updates. He then responded with a snarky comment along the lines of, “some of you guys care too much about recruiting.”
I think this could have all been avoided if he just posted that he hasn’t been in contact with anyone in the Fournette clan.
Unless they start playing this at Schembechler Hall: http://grooveshark.com/#!/search/song?q=Don%20Henley%20They're%20Not%20Here,%20They're%20Not%20Coming
Fucking Kiffin. I just knew he had something to do with this.
OP's title is confusing. Get yo abbreviations right son.
Official post office abbreviation for the State of Louisiana. Considering the context, I'd day it was pretty clear.
Yeah so in the same line of thought, how many of us abbreviate Michigan as Mi. No one? Ok, thats what I thought
I live in Tennessee and the people here don't know the difference between MI and MN.
Like..they don't know the difference between the letters I and N?
A few years ago when I worked in Louisville we had a guy in the warehouse who didn't know where Michigan was.
Oklahoma, that's what you thought? I don't get it.
He is actually in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Nowhere near Lane Kiffin, relax.
Is he there yet?
Is he there yet?
Is he there yet?
Fournette is Einhorn, Einhorn is Fournette!
One of the coaches need to hop on a plane this weekend and take the Fournette's a plate of hot BBQ. Food sends a big message in Louisiana.
I should probably mention here, since most probably don't know it, of the animosity btw the Michigan heads and Les Miles that started back in early 2000s, and how he supposedly was spreading rumors that Carr had onset of Alzheimers, in order to secure the local Lousiana player Jai Eugene... Bo and Lloyd had a major falling out with Miles because of it... and its been said in inner circles that this was the catalyst to start the recruiting dip on Carr's last few years, because it spread among all the elite recruits, and its also been argued that this helped lead to RR.
I should also mention something true but less apparent, that Brandon was referring to Miles when he inferred certain coaches will coach here over his dead body.
Well, coincidences are funny things.... Fournette is supposedly the top La recruit to come out in a decade, and figure how hard Miles wants to keep him instate.... the odds alone speak about the possibility of foul play here.
I believe there were other "circumstances" that caused a rift between Lloyd/Michigan and Les as well but ill let the Internet sleuths figure that out.
In good taste to not bring that to light for those that haven't heard that
I know what youre referring to... but I cannot imagine that Miles wouldn't have been fired for that far earlier it were true.... and the only proof in the public realm is the person while in a drunk stupor, rambling, and mentioning it, to which, could have easily been paranoia. Think about the insubordination and/or nerve it would take for Miles to do and/or overcome the fear of doing so.
Regarding that last sentence: dude, it's Les Miles.
This was the one big weekend we had before the season, beautiful weather, other commits, etc. Oh well I guess.
Rivals seems to claim that he's off the list.
