Forrest Griffin(UFC Fighter) becomes a Wolverine

Submitted by gobluerebirth on

Ufc 123 is in Detroit and Forrest Griffin wanted to stop by and see the Michigan football program up close. I'm not sure if this link will work...http://modules.ufc.com/live/

It may, if it doesn't go to UFC.com and it's the 2nd video after the weigh-in on the front page.

Thanks for posting this. I was skeptical at first because UFC is absurd, but he was definitely given more inside access than I expected.

You can tell the guy has been punched in the head too many times, though.

I understand that some people just are not into people beating the hell out of each other. I love it though. I didn't like Forrest much after he edged out that victory over Rampage(I thought Rampage won the fight, it was close). However, I'll root for Forrest now after watching this. Thanks guys for enjoying this, I was afraid I was going to get the neg for posting.

the rush of tapping someone out, without hitting, punching, kicking, just plain causing a guy to submit or give up.   Also, knock'n someone (who consents to fight) the F -out is pretty damn fun too.  Gotta try it.  I remember reading awhile ago that Tate was into MMA training but had to stop after he committed to Michigan.

Awesome sport. I laughed at it for a long time. I was an old school boxing fan. Hagler-Hearns the greatest three rounds of boxing ever.  So I just dismissed it as a bunch of gamer zit-poppers glorifying brute violence.

My cousins forced me to go to a bar to watch Lesner this summer. I got hooked. The energy in the ring and with the fans is like boxing used to be.    Let's see some of that scary energy tomorrow on the field at Michigan Stadium.

That conversation between Forrest and Barwis must've been something. I would've loved to listen in and see how amazed Forrest was at Barwis' knowledge and overall "enthusiasm".

We also get to see video of the new lights in the stadium. They look very sleek  along the roofs and I'm surprised they could break them up along each sideline and not have to have one continuous line.

had to watch it again, thanks for pointing out the lights.  Great work  Now Im pouring a glass of spiced rum and ice tea. As I drink, I close my eyes look ahead to the future Michigan football games playing in AA.  Cant wait to hear the BH crowd the first night, with primetime national exposure! Go Blue! Hard Edge!

Cool vid. Wished they had someone else besides Griffin there. Hes not the smartest guy in the world. My last memory of FG is him getting embarrassed by Silva.

Maybe you should put up Forrest choking out Shogun. The guy gets 100 percent out of what he's got and he's into Michigan football. That's cool by me. Everybody gets embarrassed by Silva.

He's also sharp enough to have co-written a couple of books. A really funny guy and good ambassador for the sport.

Its no surprise he had that access. MB was an MMA guy for awhile. If I recall correctly Mike Martin even stated he wouldnt want to go toe 2 toe with him.

If you want to see this guy fight I would recommend watching Griffin vs. Bonnar 1, the final for the Ultimate Fighter 1.  it's a hell of a fight. This guy helped grow the sport. I respect him.

I am a HUGE MMA fan and have followed it since the beginning before it became mainstream. It's so great that its now being recognized as a sport. It really is more than 2 guys beating the crap out of each other. It's alot like a chess match especially when you incorporate the ground game. Forrest is actually one of my favorite fighters in MMA not just UFC so this video just makes me smile. The guy is funny and a warrior in the ring!

I'm thinking he's been smacked in the head a few times.  Hey, Michigan should check out his 40 time...if he's fast enough he could make for a killer linebacker - which we could use :O)
