Former Wolverine Mike Cammalleri Pulled Mid Game

Submitted by Fhshockey112002 on

In a strange situation to say the least... The Montreal Canadian's Mike Cammalleri was pulled off the ice, and sent to the team hotel Mid-game tonight.

Reports are that Cammalleri was sent to the team hotel to "wait further instructions."  Wednesday Cammalleri made some questionable remarks regarding the team they included: "We prepare for our games like losers. We play like losers. So it's no wonder why we lose"

Edit: Reports coming out he has been traded.  In a very classless act the Canadian's sent him to the hotel via taxi.

Edit 2: Report traded to Calgary for Rene Bourque (See links below). Thanks guys.

I hate to say it, but sending him to the hotel in a cab seems about right given what he said about the organization. He should have kept that in house.

As a veteran of 500+ NHL games, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt... I think he's earned the right to speak up when no one inside the organization seems to be listening.

well that comment didn't gain him much, Calgary has only 6 more points than the Canadiens.  Sounds like there is some validity to his statement though.

We are run no better than Columbus. Seriously. He deserves better than us - though Calgary is a very questionable better.

Pathetic. The return is average at best - Bourque is bigger and cheaper. But pulling him mid-game vs your biggest rival, down 2 in an even game??? Christ next thing you know we'll higher Tressel to run our power play.

Very sad to see a Wolverine leave, especially Camms (though he was having a horrible year).

Here's hoping Pateryn and Bennet pan out.

So happy I can acknowledge his existence again (Bruins fan here). I was sort of shocked that he was traded since he was one of the Habs's best player, but I can understand why they'd want to bring in a francophone underachiever. Just so you all know, the Habs would've gotten buzzsawed whether Cammalleri stayed in the game or not.

Best of luck to Mike in Calgary where he started his career.

Bourque is from Alberta and can't speak a word of French. Cammalleri is going back to the team he had his best season with and to play with a guy who is considered to still be a top 10 forward in the game today. Huge win for the Flames. I'll take a 30 goal 35 assist guy with a ton if heart over a 25 goal 15 assist guy who can't seem to stop getting suspended

Roy is a jackass IMO but wasn't he treated about the same?

Cammy was supposed to go home to play for the Leafs before this Montreal deal. I wanted so much to see him in Toronto.
