Former Wolverine Greg Brown
has left the Findlay football program.
I ran into a couple folks very close to the program today and they informed me he left program in the middle of spring practice....just picked up and walked away during drills and hasn't been seen from again.
He is suppose to be going to BGSU this fall, but will be in eligable and on his own dime.
Best of luck to the kid...but seems to be making thngs pretty hard on himself.
Nice city down in Bolivia.
"El Igable" is how it's known locally.
for "Whale's Vagina."
...all of the "warnings" about Brown turned out to be true.
When we recruited him, I was told "he's an awesome talent...when he wants to be." He came to Michigan early and played pretty well early, because he was motivated as a true freshman to run with the big boys. Unlike his senior year of high school where he seemed and played bored and disinterested (remember, he was an early commit).
When things didn't work out in his favor at Michigan, he got mad and quit. Seems like it happened again. The kid is looking for entitlement and instant gratification and it's just not there at this level of football.
You can go play at a small school where you're better and more talented than everyone and be bored. Or you can work your way into the lineup at a big time place. Seems like neither interests him.
Hope he can get it together, I don't know how he does academically, but he's costing himself a fortune in student loans if he keeps ruining scholarship opportunities.
truth
Hopefully Jaron Stokes can help mentor him in some way. BGSU is probably a good fit for him, they'll get him eligible and ready for 2013 I hope!
BG has turned a few JuCo recruits into real talent over the past couple of years, and I'm sure Greg Brown can do the same.
As I've often said when it comes to recruiting, where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Most of these kids who have had "warning signs" in high school do not pan out, at least not at Michigan. Conelius Jones, Demar Dorsey, Greg Brown, Austin White, etc. Rumors about character issues don't typically just pop up out of nowhere.
So let me get this straight, since I wasn't around 3 years ago, but not only was RR consistently pulling in substandard talent, but he was pulling down substandard talent with horrible baggage?
I now understand why we have depth problems at almost every position and his teams horribly under achieved.
that Denard Robinson kid is not only a terrible player, but he is a thuggish player too.
You'd never be able to win a BCS bowl with the scrubs we brought in from 2008-2011 recruiting classes.
