Former MSU Basketball Player Appling To Jail For One Year

Submitted by DomIngerson on
Keith Appling headed to jail for one year. "Appling pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon and also a count of obstructing a police officer, the report said. He received five years of probation and will spend the first year in jail. Appling was arrested in Detroit over the weekend after reportedly being pulled over for failing to use a turn signal." https://www.landof10.com/michigan-state/keith-appling-arrest-jail-time-…

I love the aftermath pic of Burke's second steal (right before the buzzer). Bonus +1 to anyone who can find the pic where someone shopped Appling's hangdog look on all of the other MSU players in the frame.

Perhaps he's suffering withdrawal symptoms from a local crackdown on spartan activities

He's probably still carrying something concealed up there, for safety's sake let's just hope it's merely

WTF is up with this program? I don't even know what to say anymore with all the stuff coming out:

1. Football team implodes in sex scandal

2. Dr Nassar

3. This guy and other alumni screwing up

How is this NOT lack of institutional control?

I don't know what kind of career he was looking at ahead of him and I get out that dumbass kids do dumbass things but I'm just bummed. Not so much for any average sparty but just for kids like him that seem to get wrapped up in bad situations all the time. Its culture, it's society, it's necessity for some kids that grow up in rough towns; I don't know. I've just gotten the chance recently to hang out with some kids (albeit much younger than Keith Appling) growing up in the middle of some tough gang/street culture and it all just makes me sad. Learn and grow, my friend.

Unfortunately most programs continue the sense of entitlement.

Given the rumors surrounding Appling and Payne, which hopefully will come to light with all the attention being focused on MSU currently, all of this is hardly surprising nor is it surprising he would feel he could get away with it.
