Very confused by this thread.  Which Hunwick was cut? My guess would be Shawn Hunwick of the Columbus Blue Jackets but its hard to tell. I have no clue what's going on. :)

EDIT: Just saw the update.  Thanks!

Matt played well in Boston, but Claude Julien's 1-4 is very good at "hiding" problem areas for defensemen. With two forwards supporting on the forecheck, it keeps your blueline out of single matchups. It's why guys Seidenberg and Ference can keep playing despite their age, and guys like Krug can step in and they don't skip a beat.

When Matt got traded they gave him 25 minutes a game and more ice to be responsible for, he really struggled.

I'm sorry what? Hunwick was +4 on a brutal team that got the #1 overall pick. He played more than any other Avs D-men and a lot of that was against scoring lines and still was one of only four players (with significant time) that had a positive +/-...I have no clue how you could look at that and say he really struggled. The fact that he was a + player on a team that horrible in the first place is impressive. I'd love it if the Wings picked him up.
