Former Icer Matt Hunwick Traded

Submitted by MichiganStudent on

Not sure if anyone really cares, but I figured I'd post this anyways. Matt Hunwick, formerly of the Boston Bruins, was traded today to Colorado where he will rejoin former teammate and Hobey Baker winner Kevin Porter.

He was also in a nice fight last night with Evander Kane of the Atlanta Thrashers (if anyone wants to embed, please do):

To add to this. Steve Kampfer is tied for 10th in the AHL for scoring defencemen with 3 goals and 11 assists in 17 games (He is 9th in the league, total, for scoring compared to other rookies). Max Paccioretty is tied for 3rd in the AHL in scoring with 11 goals 14 assists in 21 games.

Agreed, I can't really think of any Michigan player that I would definitely want on the Wings right now.  Maybe Jack Johnson, but I dunno even then.  Granted, I haven't kept up with how most Michigan players are doing, but the Wings' roster is looking pretty darn solid right now.

It doesn't look like Kampfer is going to come up right away, but with the constant string of injuries that is plaguing the Bruins, I'm sure we'll see him at some point this season.

I'm disappointed that the B's traded Hunwick, and I wish him the best of luck in Colorado.
