Regardless, I think we can all agree, talking about going undefeated or Tate becoming the first ever frosh to win the Heisman is... um... ludicrous (not saying anyone here is, I realize this was started by ESPN's voting staff).
On another note - how dumb is it to take an early Heisman poll already? Really, ESPN? Watching Tim Tebow beat Charleston Southern and Troy made you think, "Yep, Heisman." Of course he dominated - at this point of the season, you might as well just pull up CFB stats up-to-date, run a sort for the major indicators, and rank those players accordingly for this list.
It's the same as pre-season polls in general - total bias towards well-known commodities.

We'll know a lot more about where Michigan is as team and about Forcier (and for that matter Robinson) when they come out of East Lansing and Iowa City.

hence the phrase irrational exuberance. I actually sent Brian a Mailbag question (about 30 minutes too late to have any chance of making the actual Mailbag) about this. I feel like a good portion of the fanbase is jumping a little too far on the bandwagon. I'm pumped at the first two games and the possiblities, but I read an actual post yesterday openly opining about our chances for the MNC game. Yowza. I'm starting to overuse the quote, but Winston Wolf from Pulp Fiction said it best: "Let's not start sucking each other's dicks just yet."

I'll admit my ceiling for this team has gone up, and maybe my expectation is up a game to 8-4, but we're still just not deep enough and one thing going wrong (Warren, Graham, Forcier injuries being the major concerns) and things get bad fast.
On the plus side, the preseason goals I had were:
Make a bowl game (looking good!)
Beat Notre Dame (check)
Beat Sparty
Forcier doesn't get hurt
So 1 of 4, beating Sparty looks like a good chance, if we don't make a bowl game that's an epic collapse, and Forcier is all about luck.

I know this is hardcore pipe dreaming, but my friends and I were debating this earlier. This is very unlikley but... If we went undefeated, don't think we will but I don't see a "can't win" game on our schedule, I think tate could win it. Granted this is a huuuuge if right now, but true freshman or not, if we go from 3-9 with out him, to 12-0 with him he has to get the nod right? Especially if he keeps this level of play up, For now though I'll keep hitting the pipe and dreaming.

People need to temper their enthusiasm. The team hasn't gone on the road yet and we've got more tough games at home. I still think that we could be on target for 7-5, but I've got hope for 8-4 and above.

IFFFFF... Tate met Scarlet Johansson in the In-N-Out burger off of the interstate 5 in Bakersfield, CA, there is a chance he could finger bang her animal style in the bathroom while Ryan Reynolds watched while sipping a strawberry shake.
The power of the force is strong with this one. He freakin outwitted Jabba the Hut in only his second game, but even Luke did lose his hand at some point (and you have to have hand!). Tate might be able to generate some regional, 3rd place votes if the above scenario occurs, but this is beyond a pipe dream. I remember people thinking "what if" after Wisconsin last year, too, and what we ended up with was the Sheridan DEATHstar destruction of Alderaan. Personally, I'm not going to be satisfied until wookies (Big Will?) are playing OSU helmets as drums.

I love that Tate has a vote but Eric Berry from Tennessee doesn't have any.
As if Tate winning the Heisman wasn't enough of a long shot, imagine if he won the Heisman with the runner up being Eric Berry. I think the entire Tennessee fan base might just implode.
