Forcier in Boot and on Crutches?

Submitted by gater on
The Daily thinks so: http://michigandaily.com/content/forcier-seen-boot-crutches LSA sophomore Tate Forcier, a quarterback on the Michigan football team, walked to class at about 10 a.m. this morning with crutches and wearing a black boot around his foot and ankle, a Michigan Daily reporter observed. I hope it's not major. Mod Edit: For those who don't read the whole article:
Members of the media were allowed to watch practice yesterday from approximately 4:05 until 4:20. And Forcier was seen participating in drills and appeared fine, nothing out of the ordinary.

Why on Earth would the Daily do this? What exactly does it add to anything, other than to spread fear and panic? Sorry, I just don't really feel to happy about them writing this kind of thing. It seems less like news, and more just rumor mongering...

There's threads like this all the time on here. "I saw so-and-so walking out of Schembechler with a sling." "I saw so-and-so hanging out in front of SQuad wearing a boot." There was a minor meltdown in the pre-MGoEra when the Daily did the same thing about Lester Abram or Daniel Horton standing on the Diag with crutches the day of a huge game. It happens. This is the electronic age. Do I wish it didn't happen? Yeah. Kids deserve to be able to go to class without it becoming a blog story.

We got no food, no jobs... our PETS' HEADS ARE FALLING OFF! What the hell are we doing here, Harry? We gotta get out of this town! Where would we go you ask? I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Aspen.

A month ago, Vlad was walking around in a boot and crutches, and is already back on the practice field.

I guess we might not see him in the spring game, afterall. I will try to stay positive and say it's a very good thing we have depth this year in case anything happens during the season. Still, fuck.

Not that I want him to sit out, because everyone can use the reps, but this might be a good situation for Denard and Devin to take advantage of. I'm sure he'll be fine by fall camp (if it indeed even lasts past the weekend). D&D will get some extra reps in front of a big Spring Game crowd, which will only help them settle in their roles. Also, I have bad ankles and would get banged up all the time. I'd end up in a boot or crutches for 2 days (3 tops) and be back out on the field in time for practice and the game on Friday night. I'm sure its nothing to panic about.

have got to be ready. Not saying it's true but Tate will take some hits this season, get banged up and Denard will get his time. If Denard can't hold the ball or has too many INTs, Devin is going in. Devin is getting the whole playbook which is different from Denard last season and he gets reps with the 1st team. So, Devin may not be the QB who starts the game or season, but he may be the one who finishes it.

is that we might not see him in the spring game. Or maybe he'll pull a Willy Wonka. Maybe he'll hobble on to the field with a cane and a limp, pretend to fall forward as 50,000 maize-clad fans gasp, do a rolling somersault, and then spring up, catch a pass thrown in by Denard, and then turn around and throw it 50 yards for a touchdown.

" . . . THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD!" The UM student paparazzo really is on this spring. Regardless of the competition at QB this year, I fully expect Tate to be starting against Connecticut; however, this is one of the few positions I'm not that worried about. I'd like to see him healthy though. Hopefully it's not too serious.

just after I get done carping on another thread about the "Tate is injured" notion that was common around here, he shows up injured for real. Sorry.
