.....print page man, no direct links. Won't click on this link......the freep is a typical bandwagon fan, once Rich starts winning again or Michigan in general they'll be back on our nuts.... but we won't forget.

..here you are again.

What's even less important than objecting to what the Free Press did and still does?

Exactly. Reminding people that want to object to what the Free Press did and still does that you object to their objecting to it. Sooooo, in that 'grand scheme of things' you mentioned, you are decidedly less 'grand'.

Job, is that you?

If the Practicegate stuff had been a one time grab at a big headline, I might agree with you, however it is a protracted and ongoing theme with them, so why would you just close your eyes?

Why shouldn't the media be accountable for the job they do?  Not just on the sports pages.  The Freep has bent reality before.  I am accountable to the job I do.

Rosenberg can not even remember when asked on the Huge show how many kids roughly that he interviewed were still on the team other than the 2 freshman that claim Rosenberg ambushed him.  The NCAA report said we never violated the weekly limit by more than 20 minutes and we got that smear job that the kids lives were practically in jeopardy?

You DO see that there's a photo page of "Who's next coach at U-M" on the front webpage of that rag, don't you?  Aside from the lousy grammar, clicking the link takes you to 10 guys they guessed COULD replace Rich Rod, if he's fired, and in-depth analysis of the subject matter...

Ron English

Urban Meyer

Mike Trgovich

Cam Cameron

Les Miles

They present the link on the front page, so much so, that it's almost assumed Rod is gone.   And then present 10 names to do what?  Provide fodder?  Deep thoughts?

A tiger never changes it's stripes, and this consumer never buys the Freep, and will click as infrequently as possible...

A really laughable content-free click-generator.  They missed out on naming Jim Tressel, Joe Paterno and the ghost of Bo Schembechler as possible "replacements."  It appeared that nobody wnated to take byline/authorship credit for it.

Yeah, I saw that byline-free "content" and was disappointed to see no one would take credit.

One would hope the never-ending stream of garbage from that hole would convince people that the Freep (and to a lesser extent, their JOA partners in crime, the snooze) aren't in the business of news, but rather the business of clicks.  Amazing to see that the Bronners Christmas wonderland vandalism story falls below Rich Rod stories at both papers.  Shows that whatever we think of their lousy "journalism," they understand pageviews are the name of todays shallow game.

...of a college kid who didn't have the luxury of being able to mature in private. It sounds like Forcier has his head on straight now. He seems to accept his role and now understands he has opprotunities at Michigan that extend beyond the football field. Good for him.

I think that people should click on the articles that are worth reading regardless of what paper it is. Maybe that will tell them that if they write about facts and not fabricated BS,  than they will get more clicks... Just my e-pinion.

Part of me thinks they have been a good dog for printing this nice story and should be patted on the head by way of me clicking on it. Then I remember that they shit in my slippers not too long ago and then I say to hell with them. This dog will have to learn to beg before I am able to change my mind.

Kind of makes you proud of the way he is growing up.  Tate will get his chances to play at Michigan and I am very happy that we have a backup of his caliber.  QB is stacked.  Hopefully we can do the same for LB, DB and S.

It's a crazy concept but it is true... If you show up at the right places at the right times and listen/do your work, you're bound to get enough information to pass.  It might not be enough to get a 4.0 in differential equations, but it'll keep your head above water anyway.

There is also the possibility that it's a matter of vocal inflection not translating over to text.  I think he meant it to come out more like "Wow, it shouldn't have been so hard to come to class in the first place."   It's kind of like going running or to the gym every day after work is "not that hard" when you want to get in shape.  It isn't, and yet there is still that mental block to get over sometimes.

it wasn't really an "article" at all.  It was an interview.  Tate Forcier gave Mark Snyder a half an hour.  Perhaps while sitting in the hotel lobby, waiting for the hotel staff to set up the buffet.

And given that the content is nothing more than Tate talking (again I wonder why he'd talk to Snyder), it is not hard to figure out why it might be "positive."

Mark Snyder and his editor simply substituted paragraph headings for the actual questions.  I think it might have been interesting to actually have a transcript of the interview.  I imagine it starting off something like this:

Mark Snyder:  Hey Tate, can I ask you some questions?

Tate Forcier:  You gotta be kidding me, man.  You're like poison.  I don't suppose Stokes or Hawthorne are talking to you either.

MS:  Come on.  Coach Jackson just said it'll be a half-hour until the buffet is ready.

TF:  What a time for my iPod to go down.  Okay.  You got a half hour.  On one condition.  You print my whole responses this time.  You have to actually print it, when I tell you what a great guy Coach Rod is.

MS:  [Rolls eyes in desperation for any content before deadline.]  Okay...

I just saw a print-edition Free Press.  It's like they just got more Kwame text messages, only they are about Tate Forcier.  Headlines for the interview above the masthead.  Front page of the Sports section, above the fold.  Big color closeup photo of Tate.  All for a half-hour interview with a sophomore.
