Football Spring Game to be April 11th
Have known this for a few weeks but what better time than now?
Found this out through the Michigan Lacrosse schedule. They face Ohio State at Michigan Stadium on April 11th, a Saturday. That game will be Battle at The Big House IV which will happen after the spring game.
Interesting note: Harbaugh had drafts for his spring games at Stanford and played actual games. We have the depth to do that now.
Harbaugh played in spring games at Michigan, too.
1984 article: led the White to an 18-15 victory over the Blue in the White's first win since 1981. Harbaugh was 17-26 for 161 and one INT.
1985 article: Harbaugh was outstanding coming off of his broken arm he suffered during the 1984 season and was 10-16 for 146 yards and one TD along with one rushing TD. That year, he led the Blue to a 27-20 victory over the White.
I'm still looking for info on the 1986 spring game. It apparently was contested on 4/19/1986.

Generally they'll give you some goodies at the stadium in exchange for cash donations, too. Like posters and things like that. But yeah, admission is free.

There's a suggested donation to Mott, I think five bucks. I'm also pretty sure you can get some cool stuff for giving more than that.

Why always so early?
Every year Ohio State has theirs the week after ours, and every year it seems like they are playing under sunny warm skys while we shiver in cloudy, windy 30-degree weather a week earlier.
A week later makes a big difference in April in Michigan.

One word: television
BTN wants to have Michigan, ohio state's and state's spring games live on their network as opposed to forcing people to watch on a stream or later on on tape delay.
The one year Michigan and OSU both had them live on the same day, BTN said WELP and didn't air either of them on live TV.

Now of course soon as they move it, it'll be 60 and sunny the week before and snow a week later.
However, Michigan should ALWAYS have the spring game as late as possible.

Turns out it will be three hours of the Oklahoma err Michigan drill.

I didn't go to the last one this spring - the first time in a while that I didn't - mainly due to being a bit drained about things from 2013. This year, however, finds me with some renewed optimism and a sense of hope that we can be where we know we've been - I think I might just help everyone fill the place. I like it.
