Football Schedule 2029

Maybe Wolverine Historian has inspired me, but, I got to thinking about Michigan football at the 150 year mark -- which is in 2029 (20 short years away, baby!). Firstly, I checked, no hotels in AA accept reservations that far out. We should encourage the (new) AD to build a 150 year anniversary schedule that celebrates Michigan football and the history of college football. So, assuming there are 4 non-conference games, what are your suggestions: 1) Notre Dame 2) Yale 3) Stanford (Rose Bowl connection) 4) Harvard 5) (if possible): University of Toronto See the 1879 schedule here: http://bentley.umich.edu/athdept/football/football.htm

Are there any traditionally- and currenlty-good teams that we haven't played at least once? If so, that might be a fun way to start off the second 150-years.

Rabble rabble, that schedule isn't good enough. I demand LSU, George, Notre Dame, and anyone but UConn...all to play the at big house.

so why dont we try fielding a "goal keeper" and have no coach as a tribute to the first UofM team. We could also try to bring back them cool throw-back (way-back) jail-bird type outfits. Will I still be around in 2029?

did you see the team photo? they say there wasn't a coach in 1879 but the one guy off to the right with the very first moustache for michigan - what is he? also it appears that they played in baseball uniforms, using a basketball.

I say go with the tradition: Yale/Harvard/Cornell Notre Dames One of the OLD SW Conference teams...TCU or SMU One of the armed forces teams Army, Navy, or Air Force... That would be a cool schedule...

I think he will become a RR protege. And, to be serious in a non-serious thread, I think he will end up coaching the maize and blue someday. I don't see RR staying for more than about fifteen years. The 100-hour weeks have to get old after awhile, and by then he will have made enough money to never worry about it again. By then, Sheridan should be an OC, and a natural choice to replace RR. Sheridan is already proving his loyalty and coaching aptitude by coaching up the kids who came in and took his job. That goes a long way in the coaching profession.
