Football Recruiting Map 2012
I know I havent posted one of these in awhile (been dealing with some computer/software issues) but with offers seemingly slowing down...I'll try and update with every new commit.

Looks great!
One quick note, you show a Derek David offer (Rockdale, TX). I'm pretty sure that offer is not commitable at this point:
Also, word on the street is that David's GPA is so low that Texas Tech had given up on sign-and-place even before the above story broke.
i salute you and your moustache
Thanks a bunch, meign.
I notice that there are many more offensive recruits from southern California than defensive recruits. Is this as simple as the home turf for Mattison vs. Borges?
I thought you might of started working again and stopped doing this.
Found a job, but its working with the Gov. (military/intell), and I need to get my security clearance upgraded. The investigation can take 6-8 months before its finalized so basically I am in a "holding pattern" until its finalized.
his name is Zeke Pike.
Thanks for pointing that out for some reason the software I am using is putting Edgewood, KY on the eastern side of the state.......not sure why. I'll have to manually fix that....Its been pointed out before and I keep forgetting
It's not just California that seems like the O is getting more attention, but outside of Texas there's only 3 defensive offers west of the Mississippi River. Interesting. Maybe because the Dream Team is so close and the staff doesn't want to put too many distant offers out there.
Gotta land Biggs, RJS, Godin, Wormley, T-Rich.
Nice maps. What program do you use to create them?
I pull the raw data from the 2012 Offer List created by umhero.
Then I use ESRI ArcGIS 10 and geocode the locations based on city/state for each player.
Once I am done playing around with the labels, symbology, colors, etc I export each map into Photoshop and put everything together in there.
I thought it looked like ArcGIS. I used to work in GIS until about 3 years ago and had used the software up through 9.1. I was hoping you were going to say it was made via some online program since I have been looking to make a couple maps (unrelated to M football) and no longer have access to the software. Thanks for the info. keep up the good work
