MLIVE is reporting that both Harbaugh and Kelly are open to the idea of opening the series back up. Things are 'trending up' according to Kelly. Are we fans of this possibility?

Harbaugh:

On Tuesday, speaking on the Big Ten teleconference, Harbaugh was asked if he'd be in favor of having a Michigan-Notre Dame series re-started at some point down the road.

"I'd probably have a conversation with coach Kelly about that before (I had one with) anyone else, that'd be the best course of action," Harbaugh said. "But I would be open to it, yes."

Pardon my French, but fuck Notre Dame.  Nothing would make me happier than to see how marginalized they become in the FBS as conferences continue to merge, realign and they continue to stubbornly try to hold onto their independent status.  Michigan has set games annually with Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan State, along with some decent OOC opponents in the future.  We don't need Notre Dame.

On second thought, we can play them, but it can be a three game series.  Two in Ann Arbor, one in South Bend.  Don't like it, then go renew your "rivalries" with Wake Forest and NC State.

I think the Notre Dame rivalry is a good one that I have enjoyed since the 80's, but I'd perfer it to be two years on and two years off or soemthing like that, so we can play so other hopefully good Power 5 teams.  I'd prefer more variety.
