Michigan has played 10 of 21 true freshmen this year, though linebacker Brandin Hawthorne has not seen the field since September and is in position to get his redshirt back. Rodriguez said he expects a similar impact from his 2010 class. hell yeah i wanted him to redshirt I think this kid is gonna be a stud. High motor very fast, like this kid alot

We need fluff. Fluff=hope. Someone just needs to make up an "insider" post that says all the freshmen are doing unbelievable and they are just now all clicking in that's why they weren't playing. By not playing they have extra time with Barwis and are getting huge. All their 40 times have dropped and they are on track to start next year. Turner, Gordon, Bell Hawthorne and Jones are all slated to start next year.

The negativity is so bad that I have pretty much taken a break from mlive and a2.com for the week. You can only read "RR hot seat" or "Bill Martin big bully" so many times before it becomes boring. I really hope that it all gets turned around a week from Saturday.

Rodriguez's final quote: "We need to have another two years and three years of really good recruiting classes that fit our needs and they pan out the way we hope," Rodriguez said. "The whole key is you’re recruiting the right student-athletes and developing them. And there’s always mistakes made along the way, but you want to minimize those mistakes and bring the kind of recruiting classes in over the next few years that you can help win championships." Another reminder of the lack of talent and how long this is still going to take. I was hoping for more W's this year but it's understandable why they haven't come. Slight tangent: I don't live in MI so I come here and other local sites for information but I also read and listen to national stuff (read: ESPN). Pat Forde (among others) has written off our chances of beating Wisconsin. I am admittedly very optimistic every week but I feel good about how we match up against them defensively. They don't, I believe, have a scrambling QB or a great passing game. That seems to play to our strength. I think our O should give them fits too. Your thoughts?

Early in the year, people said we were susceptible to the power run game. I disagree. We're better tacklers this year than we were last year, and we react poorly to speed and misdirection. We've actually done fairly well defensively against the 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust-ish teams like Iowa and MSU. I think Wisconsin is going to be a good game.

Honestly...not to be a downer...but I still really have a hard time getting excited about Turner, Emilien and Gordon when Williams and Kovacs are starting over them. I know they're just freshmen and all...and maybe we're really just redshirting them with eyes towards the future...but maaaan.

And have been in the last number of posts I've seen from you. That's fine, I know I'm a little bit down on the team at the moment, but don't preface what you say with "Honestly...not to be a downer," because you are. You are a downer, you're going to be a downer, and I think you mean to be a downer. Downer.

I am really excited about Quintin Washington - hopefully he turns out to be a huge "get" for us, seeing as how he was a 4-star who we got close to the deadline.
