Floyd Reinstated
Here's to "all or nothing."
"It comes as little surprise after Kelly announced earlier this summer that his decision on Floyd would be an "all-or-nothing" proposition: Either the All-American receiver would play in all 12 games this season or he wouldn't take another snap for Notre Dame. ""

Avery?
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:10 AM ^
Avery and T. Gordon/JT Floyd
ND will run multiple receiver sets and T. Gordon or J.T. Floyd will be on the field a lot in this game
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:17 AM ^
Did you forget Troy Woolfolk is on the team?
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:38 AM ^
No. He is the other CB... on the other side of the field
Avery (the more vulnerable of the 2 CBs) will need the nickel-back (either JT FLoyd or T. Gordon) to double-up on Floyd and assist Avery.
Woolfolk will be busy on single coverage of ND's other elite WR.
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:08 AM ^
Why would we not have our No.1 corner on their No. 1 WR?
August 3rd, 2011 at 12:07 PM ^
ND's other elite WR? Who exactly is that?
Seriously though, you expect Woolfolk to cover the "other" receiver on Minnesota opposite Da'Jon McKnight, the "other" receiver on Northwestern opposite Jeremy Ebert, the "other" receiver on Michigan State opposite whoever their number 1 is?
That's interesting.
Also, I'd suspect the nickel-back will be busy defending a TE or a 3rd wideout in Notre Dame's spread offense, but hey, that's just a guess.
August 3rd, 2011 at 12:21 PM ^
I would double team him with Jack Daniels & Johnie Walker (though since there are 2 Walkers, I can't decide who would be better ... Red or Black)!
Go Blue!
Always go Johnnie Walker Blue label.

Kelly is another tressel
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:57 AM ^
Zero tolerance Dantonio. With him, the problem isn't just jail to the field (as we're not entirely in a position to talk) but the fact that he shouted zero tolerance and then did nothing. "it means just that, I have zero tolerance for it" he said after someone brought up his inconsistencies. So, just like Kelly, they're empty words.
August 3rd, 2011 at 12:32 PM ^
And I guess that makes Hoke Tressel III? Stonum back after 4 games?
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:04 AM ^
ONLY 1 GD MONTH!! !
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:04 AM ^
Shocked....
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:10 AM ^
Let's see how long Stonum's held out before we throw stones.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:27 AM ^
People should be fine throwing stones no matter what happens with Stonum- as long as they're willing to throw the same stones at Hoke.
Not quite related, but close enough: ND needs to stop this act they have going about "doing things differently". Their new coach has played an obviously concussed player, ran a program found guilty of multiple workplace safety violations by IOSHA (that resulted in a death) and now has reinstated a player that apparently would have been in deep shit with the school itself, not just the football team, even a couple years ago.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:30 AM ^
People that live in glass houses should not throw Stonum's.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:32 AM ^
everyone agreed to be dunn with these puns.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:58 AM ^
...we agreed to that Pryor to all the hullabaloo at Ohio State.
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:09 AM ^
Gee, this is getting ridiculous.
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:11 AM ^
It is starting to Tress me out.
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:16 AM ^
I'm starting to Hoke it will end soon.
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:17 AM ^
The whole situation is very Fickell right now.
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:50 AM ^
Shut up with these or I will kick you all in Denard.
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:57 AM ^
I guess it's your way or the Hemingway.

I don't know how you guys stay Saine with all of these Gardner variety puns.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:13 PM ^
There's an entire Roh of people that make these puns.
You must like this game, you're on Roundtree.
What the Funk is going on here? What's the Dileo?
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:41 AM ^
Are those Big glass Houses?
Agreed on all counts.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:16 AM ^
Who'd a thunk it!?
Although, if Hoke reinstates Stonum can we still critique Brian Kelly and ND? Not trying to be flamebait here, just asking an honest question.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^
I think most of the hypocrisy is that Kelly said "all or nothing" and then didn't follow through. I don't think Coach Hoke has made a concrete statement either way in Stonum's case so it will be easier for him to explain whatever punishment he deems appropriate. I haven't followed it that closely but I've been happy with how the team is handling the situation. I guess Hoke isn't just a master recruiter.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:53 AM ^
But I wouldn't call it hypocrisy. I think it's just transparent and ridiculous to say all or nothing. It feigns an attitude of discipline while making it pretty blatant he won't miss a down. What would be so wrong with suspending him for a game or two?
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:31 AM ^
Come to think of it hypocrisy is pretty much exactly the right word.
August 3rd, 2011 at 12:23 PM ^
it WAS all or nothing.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:18 AM ^
Before we throw our hands up in the air... We have seen plenty of DUI's from our guys too (Stonum, Braylon, J. Rose, Grady).
To be honest it could happen to anyone so we shouldn't get all pissed off and have a kid's opportunity in school taken away.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:28 AM ^
This isn't his first alcohol related arrest. And a DUI is a serious offense, he would serve jail time if he killed someone while driving. A DUI could not happen to anybody, it can only happen to people who CHOOSE to drink and drive.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:19 AM ^
Of course he is. You didn't really think Kelly would choose the "nothing" option, did you?
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:21 AM ^
Too Funny!...
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:33 AM ^
So when is your next weekly-Notre-Dame-prediction-video-series-that-is-only-weekly-until-you-lose-to-Michigan coming out? I can't wait to hear what you have to say this year, big guy!
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:23 AM ^
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Floyd he's a sociology major. Maybe he can discuss the effects of drunk driving on society for his senior thesis.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:38 AM ^
Now THAT would be ironic!
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
Why am I not surprised. This is the same coach who told his team at Cinci at the end of the regular season that he wasn't leaving and left them before their BCS bowl. Kelly is a scumbag like many others who coach. It is a win at all costs mentality.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:44 AM ^
I just find it extremely obnoxious that mgouser IRISH is never to be found on a thread like this. Also, the last two seasons prior to the Notre Dame he was all over the boards hyping up his team, only to not be found after the games were played. I guarantee you'll find him all over the boards again this year, and if ND is to win, watch out.
If you're going to give it IRISH. Take it. Yeah, Stonum will play this year, just like Floyd. Just make sure you don't write a passive aggressive post on the Stonum thread after not posting anything on this one.
August 3rd, 2011 at 10:51 AM ^
Nice preemptive strike, gremlin.
August 3rd, 2011 at 12:23 PM ^
Thank you sir.
August 3rd, 2011 at 11:07 AM ^
if Notre Dame actually manages to beat Michigan for what..the 2nd whole time these last 6 years, then Irish will get himself banned from here. You just KNOW he's waiting go off on this board. But us...winning...the last 2 years has stopped him.
