What's with athletes these days?
Fitzgerald Toussaint arrested for drunk driving [EDIT: Fitz suspended indefinitely by Hoke]
Its not athletes these days, it happened back in the day too. It just got handled in house most of the time and never made it to the news like it does today.
but this is nothing new, cops are just less likely to look the other way.
The cop was probably a Sparty.
I don't care if he was a Buckeye...He is a police officer doing his job. I don't want them to let our athletes go, especially if they are deserving of something as bad as a DUI
Good thing I wasn't joking.
I understand it has happened forever. Hell, I did some stupid shit when I was younger. But given the circumstances, and how publicized the punishments are these days, you would think some of these guys would be MORE careful.
Fitz seeing a guy like Stonum go from being the #1 or 2 guy to sitting out a year and transfering should make him think twice about driving under the influence. I'm okay with players drinking, even underage, just don't be stupid about it. And don't get caught. Kids will be kids, but these guys gotta start thinking about their future.
caused. A 20% reduction in the definition of DWI is significant, IMO.
You would think all these superstar athletes would have a friend willing to drive them home....or atleast not let them get in a car. This is getting rediculous.
God damn it Fitz.
beating Alabama just became a lot harder.
Here comes Thomas Rawls.
of Hoke. Let's forget about football for a second. I hope Fitz gets help NOW before it becomes a problem. Let's just hope it was a big mistake and he learns from it.
I say suspend him until the courts determine he does not have a problem, then bring him back on probation. If he does have a problem, no football until he gets all the help he needs.
My 9-3 record prediction just got tougher.
I bet this means Hello Vincent Smith - UM's starting RB for the Alabama game....
Rawls. Book it.
Thought so too but I think given the glare of such a huge game they'll open with a Senior's surer hands. Wouldn't be surprised if they go with Rawls though.
I know he's a big recruit but he got destroyed whenever he was in during garbage time iirc
My thoughts exactly. The kid will have to play the game of his life.
You would have thought Stonum's ordeal would have sent a message to the team. But thus is the life of a 21 year old.
Just fucking great. What a great birthday present for me...Rawls you better be ready
I thought the article just says it was over .08 without giving a specific number.
Not necessarily a .08 (but I guess the actual level won't really matter long term). We probably won't know the actual level until the police report gets out.
It says he blew above the legal limit of .08. Not,"He blew a .08."
I use to get drunk all the time in, I chose to walk home or call a cab. Why is it so hard for athletes to run home after getting drunk, just think of it as a work out.
It's a long run from Saline, but Hoke might have him run to Saline and back 10 times as punishment.
That said, what was he doing in Saline?
Wasn't in Saline, just Saline cops in Ann Arbor as part of some joint task force.
Because there's seriously nothing to do in Saline (I'm a native).
Yeah, that is a long way but can you imagine how many steps he is going to be running in The Big House now. It would have turned out better if he took the long run while being drunk.
Seriously! Why do kids think that they will never get caught? With the season so close why would you put yourself in that position? I know when I was playing college ball in AZ we were on strict guidelines the month or two before the season.
Not like this .... Not like this....
if you're going to drink and drive, do it in detroit where nobody cares.
Fuck. Ten days out from fall camp. Not smart decision making to even be in this position.
I think he has to be suspended for at least several games now unless it turns out that the breathalyzer was wrong (how likely is that?). In any case I hope he gets his act together and never does anything like that again.
Stonum's first arrest got him a one-game suspension. That suspension was handed down summarily, before Stonum was convicted of anything, based upon Stonum's having violated team rules. Underage drinking/drinking during the season.
Toussaint is 22, and can legally drink. The team is not in season or in a workout period. He might not have violated any team rule by merely taking a drink. But as a student-athlete who has a child he fathered out of wedlock while in high school, this is a 22 year-old man who should know better. I am going to guess that a one-game suspension will be the punishment; plus something more (perhaps some sort of behind the scenes monitoring) to make sure this guy has a chance to make it to the NFL so he can support his child.
I don't think we'll see Toussaint in a Michigan uniform after this year.
I think it'll be more than one game. Hoke unfortunately has had to deal with more than his share of incidents. Thankfully, until now they were minor ones. I think he has to set an example that stuff like this won't be tolerated, and no one on the team is above the rules. Practically (cynically?) it doesn't really matter; if he misses Alabama, he might as well miss Air Force and UMass, if it means getting a point across to the rest of the team to keep their noses clean.
I'm not sure what you're replying to or refuting.
Well, see him in 2013 if that.
But as a first offense it is rarely a full season suspension. I'll guess he misses weeks 1 and 2, and is back for ND.
ND is week 4.
I didn't think it was possible, to drive in downtown Ann Arbor during the Art Fair. Must be some kind of mistake. Maybe he was sliding across the hood of the car. Was the car moving?
Can't you just tap some random person at the bar (maybe an attractive girl?) and just say "I'm the starting RB, can you give me a ride home so I don't get arrested or kill someone?" How hard can it be?
I hope Thomas Rawls or Vincent Smith can do some serious lead blocking for all of the extra QB designed runs they'll be calling against Alabama (and probably beyond that game as well).
may not think this so amusing as Campbell's Duke imitation.
That'll help against Alabama.
I imagine a first offense will give him a 2-4 game suspension. Anyway, we'll go on without him, it'll suck, but what else can we do.
Honestly... when you do this... you're literally giving a fat middle finger to your entire team that depends on you...
Although a literal interpretation conjures some humorous images.
Were the Lions in town?
Creative line about triple post
Omg no way triple post lolz
... Not sure what the precedent for suspension is. My guess is he sits out a week of fall camp and doesn't start the Alabama game. He'll play by the 2nd quarter at the latest.
Uninformed guess, but football-wise this is not the end of the world. Decision-making-wise, this is pretty disappointing. Not going to throw stones, because I was once in college too, but disappointing, nonetheless.
i'd be fucking terrified about facing alabama's defense, too.
Vomit on the keyboard, anyone?
Yes, twice. Now all I have left is bile.
Will he get suspended for Bama? Or will his punishment be doing early morning sprints with weights?
3 game suspension at least...
Well now the Bama D can just zero in on Denard. Michigan can run fakes all they want to Rawls but Bama won't take them. I have no idea how these kids are this stupid. With the season around the corner and the fact that you could kill yourself or someone else... The only thing I can conclude is that you are just an idiot. There is nothing else I can say. This kid still finds ways to stay off the field.. Even when he isn't hurt.
but he's going to have to work harder than a .08.
Can we pull a Tressel and suspend him for, say, the UMass game as long as he promises to come back to school in the Fall?
I think 1-2 games and a bunch of stairs is sufficient given this is the first sign of trouble.
This pretty much sucks. And really one of the most important players on the roster since he takes so much pressure off of Denard. Hopefully he takes this more seriously than Stonum seemed to. He worked hard to come back from a series of injuries and it would be a shame to see him lose playing time from legal problems.
Lets just suspend him for the Air Force or Massachusetts game instead.. /s
we are not!
Or Michigan State...
I would drive from Rochester NY in the middle of the night to drive him home. I am sure there are about 230957122351 other people that would do the same damn thing and save me the 400 mile trip. Dammit Fitz. Alabama just got 7 more points in the spred if they got one.
I might be alone on this but I don't think a kid should get a second chance when it comes to drinking and driving. Im sorry but there is no excuse for it. Underage drinking is something that will always happen and, if caught, is an offence that deserves a second chance. But Goddamnit, don't drive if you've been drinking! Too many innocent people have been killed because of this.
You're better than that, Fitz.
than a lot of people here for a variety of reasons. I don't condone stupidity, though. For the life of me, I can't understand how a player can put himself in that position, especially after having witnessed first-hand what the consequences can be.
For the life of me, I cannot remember what made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise. For the life of me, I cannot believe we'd ever die for these sins. We were merely freshmen.
quoting this. I also cannot upvote since I am on my phone and the site is blocked thanks to the Air Force. Thank you good sir.
I do remember being a freshman. Toussaint isn't a freshman.
It was really just because you said "For the life of me." And the Verve Pipe is a Michigan band.
Last post on the subject before I go try and flush my head down the toilet....
I would literally call Silas Redd RIGHT NOW and let him know about Fitz's absolutely brilliant extra-curricular activities.
Suspend Fitz for as long as you possibly can....
I don't why but I read the front page post as Stonum and not Fitz and then it sunk in as my brain corrected myself. Uggghh.
Oh for fuck sakes this is just PERFECT. Damn it Fitz!!!
Make that triple. Don't know what happened.
I'm so mad right now, I can't even explain it.
Double post, sorry. See below.
Was really hoping to see how he did against Bama. I'm sure Hoke will suspend him for probably 2-3 games, he's legit that way. But it is his first offense so anything more than that would probably be too much.
I wasn't aware that stating I was looking forward to seeing how your RB did against Bama is flamebait.
What an ass-hat move. When did students start driving somewhere to get drunk? There aren't enough places on campus, so we have to be driving around wasted?
If he lives on campus, why the hell is he driving to downtown Ann Arbor? Bus, cab or walk FERGODSAKES!!!!
Can someone remind Toussaint that the bad news is supposed to be about not-us today?
Fits well with your avatar.
Fitz has not been convicted of a crime. This is also apparently his first offense so let's wait for details to come out before hanging him out to dry. At worst, I see this as a 2-game suspension.
Unless the article came out of someone's ass, if he gets off it will be on a technicality. It seems pretty clear cut he was pulled over behind the wheel and blew over the limit. So yeah, he'll be suspended for at least a couple games.
(edit, meant as reply to geewhiz)
We are not hanging Fitz out to dry. He did that for us.
How is anybody rushing to judgment? There's really no easy way around this: his BAC was above the legal limit for driving, he got in a car and drove somewhere. End of story. That is one of the dumbest things anyone could do. There is no measure of leniency to wait for additional facts to come out.
Pulled over in downtown Ann Arbor.
Are. You. Shitting. Me.
It could be a totally different Fitzgerald Toussaint! Wait, shit nevermind. DAMN FITZ, WHAT THE HELL!?
It's my fault. I make one joke about Penn State and this news breaks like an hour later.
I was all like :) to go to Dallas now I'm all like :(
Embarassing. Kick Fitz off the team - I'm entirely serious.
If you cannot handle the responsibility of being Michigan's starting running back, especially with a game vs. the defending national champion looming, then go find some I-AA program to pay for your scholarship.
RBs are a dime a dozen (whether they are elite, remains to be seen).
Hope Hoke brings the iron fist.
I'm guessing innocent until proven guilty means nothing to you...
Your optimism is admirable, but cops don't usually get this one wrong. Unless he gets off on technicality, he will be found guilty; and even if he does get off on a technicality, he's still guilty of being an idiot and hurting the team.
That's what all the Paterno apologists are saying too.
You haz it.
Glad this post has a lower score than the one below decriminalizing drunk driving and commending Toussaint.
This is not Penn State. We can take responsibility for people at our university who do not live up to expectations.
This is Michigan. Any player that doesn't understand that doesn't deserve a place on the team, simple as that.
A few things, is he 21?
Will Hoke wait until he's officialy charged or sentenced? The reason I ask is if he get a lesser charge will it result in the same punishment?
If he blew a breathalyzer then there won't be a lesser charge.
He may be able to work something out. I doubt it'd affect his punishment vis-a-vis the football-related punishment.
He is 21, turned in May. No clue on the rest of your questions.
that he can plead to a lesser offense depending what is presented to the prosecutor. His attitude, his level of intoxication, and his past driving record play into plea agreements. Most first time DUI's get a reduction.
i just have to say this..how many of us have driven home when you shouldnt...everyone here has the limit is what 2 beers you have that at dinner....yeah hes under more light and im not making a excuse but no reason to go all crazy. Getting a pulled over or not getting pulled over is all luck lets be honest when it comes to getting a DUI
Couldn't disagree more. People get killed by drunk drivers all the time. This isn't a boys will be boys, we've all been there situation
What did you say?
Please kindly reiterate that to my friend who lost his brother to a drunk driver. There aren't any excuses for driving while intoxicated or under the influence, regardless of whether or not you get caught.
Nice try, Terelle Pryor.
That has put a damper on my day. I'm in a bad mood now.
This an opportunity of a lifetime for all the other backs due to his stupidity. Embrace it boys and make Fitz earn his spot back!
Your constant sheep-bating is tempting the banhammer
the UNIV and th Fans DOWN!!! beating Bama just became ALOT harder...I dont get it
YOU KNOW the consequences and you selfishly did it anyways.....
I seriously do not understand what he was thinking. This hurts...I do think he does not play in Alabama game...but maybe A.F. or N.D. when he will be back...maybe not starting A.F.
All hope for the Alabama game is basically lost. No proven running threat besides Denard.
Also, it's kind of ridiculous that the SALINE police department is looking for drunk drivers in Ann Arbor. This is why no one likes cops, bunch of jackasses.
This makes Denard's load much heavier against Bama. We don't need him running the ball 25 times just to make it a game. I don't want to see denard getting killed 3 or 4 times a quarter in the opener.
I'll take my neg just to tell you that you're the jackass with that whole post.
If your drunk and behind the wheel of a motor vehicle you should be arrested. Sorry it was Fitz but he should know better. Quit defending people who make stupid mistakes. You sound like the Penn State fans who are upset at losing bowl opportunities.
I have a breathalyzer I keep in my car, you'd be surprised how few beers it takes to get to .08. I don't think a lot of people realize that they can feel completely sober and be over the limit, especially people who drink often. Studies about BAC and risk of crashing have shown that legal-aged drinkers don't really see any risk go up from .08 until .125 BAC or so.
Of course, that doesn't excuse him for breaking a law, nor do I know how drunk he was. I do wonder how these checkpoints are legal constiutionally, I imagine there's an MGoBlogger here that can explain why.
Sobriety checkpoints do not violate the 4th amendment. HOWEVA, they DO violate Michigan Constitutional law, and are not permissible within the borders of our fine state.
I'm guessing this wasn't a sobriety checkpoint. If it was, Fitz will be able to avoid the potential legal fallout. He'd still have to run hella stairs though.
In Indiana they call them "Seatbelt Checkpoints". I always thought 1 am was an odd time to check for seatbelt usage though.
This perfectly sums up how I now feel.
I know that avatar.
I know I'll get flamed, but is there an unusually prevelant culture of drinking around this team? Seems like there have been way too many arrests involving acohol since Hoke took over.
Nobody wants to hear it, but we're neck and neck with Ohip for the B1G lead in arrests over the last year and a half. This is not OK and if the fan base and alumni continue to ignore the problem it's going to get worse.
Too bad Hoke isn't Dantonio. I seem to remember a similar situation involving C.L. Rucker and Dantonio picking him up from Ingham County Jail on the way to Iowa City. That is why Hoke is of the Schembechler/Moeller coaching tree, not the Tressell win at all costs tree.
That doesn't make it inexcusable, but it does make me wonder if he was drunk or just over .08, which isn't drunk for most guys. A lot of these legal troubles seem like it's college kids doing college things, esepcially regarding Big Will's legal issue.
That doesn't excuse it, of course, but it's not like these kids are getting in trouble for violence, etc, unless I'm missing something.
is a prevalent culture. However, it's not one of drinking... it's one of entitlement.
Well what on earth would cause that?
getting arrested. That falls on RR (or Lloyd, for Stonum).
Not sure if that's a valid excuse. He's been their coach for a year and a half now. If you give him credit for turning the team around, you can't turn right around and blame the problems on the previous coach. Not that I think he's to blame either, but he's the head coach so he ends up being ultimately responsible for these things.
I'm not sure that is a valid argument, considering Hoke has had major influence over these kids for over a year now. Anything about RR is irrelevant in my opinion.
I have faith that Hoke will apply the appropriate punishment for this stupidity, like he has thus far with the other problem-children.
EDIT: this was a response to jblaze... not sure why it got mixed up.
Agreed. By the time I graduated, I knew a lot more people who had MIP's or some other alcohol-related incident than I did people who hadn't had any run-ins with the law.
That's fair, but as big as drinking is at Michigan, drinking and driving certainly isn't. One of the great things about AA and our campus is how walk able everything is. I knew tons of people who drank a ton, but I don't think I knew anyone who got a DUI.
"binge drinking is the rule, not the exception, at Michigan and probably every school in the world"
There I fixed it for you
Bye-Bye 1600 yard season (although I would have been quite happy with anything over 1200). A two or three game suspension is at least going to be the penalty. Personally I hope he gets leaped on the depth chart and never regains the opportunity to be a feature back, which may have propelled him into entering next years draft and being a top 100 selection.
We all make mistakes and hopefully he will learn from his, but I hope that it is VERY costly for him.
Disgruntled Season Ticket Holder
Kid made a mistake. He drove drunk. Chill let him pay his punishment and get over it. It's not like we can go back in time. It's not right but we can't change the past let's just hope he learns from his mistakes and continues to grow both on and off the field. It's not like RB is a weak position on this team.
opportunist that i am, i just went and put some money on alabama -10.5 on 5dimes, assuming that the line will go up when the inevitable suspension is announced.
I understand that college students make dumb decisions, as I did my fair share of stupid things while drunk in college as well.
But there is really just no reason to take a vehicle when you're going out in Ann Arbor. All of the bars are within walking distance.
Seriously. My car moved like 5 times a year when I was in AA, and they were either to go home to GR or maybe get some shit from Meijer. It was certainly never to go to the bar.
Ah but did you have a Blue Pass (my part time job was at the medical center, best benefit) and have to walk from Tower on E.Williams up to the med center or public health?
Car with Bluepass was awesome.
I hate to say it (and I'm sure I'll get roasted for it) but this doesn't surprise me at all. I've been hearing a lot of stories (from friends still living in ann arbor) about him doing really dumb stuff this summer. I felt like it was just a matter of time before he got in some sort of trouble, I just wish for his sake it wasn't something as serious as this.
care to elaborate?
I don't know about this summer, but I can tell you I know Fitz likes to party. There were several instances last winter term where I saw him at frat parties with a few other well known players on our team who I won't mention, and they were drinking quite a bit. They weren't doing anything crazy though so I can't say I expected him to do anything like this, but I can say he is a player that likes to go out and drink a fair amount of alcohol.
Punched a bouncer in the face at Rick's awhile back. He was lurking around my buddies car (possibly looking to break into it), my friend asked him what he was doing and fitz started trying to get into a fight him (this was on Friday btw)
He has a toddler. A DUI is irresponsible to begin with, but when you're a young father, c'mon.
Jesus H. Christ, come on Fitz.
I'm going to get negged for this, but as much as we love to make fun of Meyer and D'Antonio for their disciplinary records, this is the 6th since Hoke has come that we've had some sort of issue.
Marvin and Jerald Robinson, Stonum twice, Campbell, and now Toussaint. Now I realize that many of them were minor, and Stonum is gone now, and that none of these are Hoke's players that he recruited, but still, 6 is way too high IMO, and especially considering that many of them are alcohol related offenses (DUI etc.), which can be very dangerous.
On anothe vote, this just makes me hate Spartan fans more. On RCMB, one kid wrote that it's obvious Hoke won't actually suspend Fitz for any gametime because he called him Fitz in the press release.
It's okay. It's the norm now that someone will neg you for pointing out the truth they don't want to believe.
College kids are college kids, and not the demographic best known for making good decisions all the time.
It happens at every program (even the service academies)....it's the follow through discipline that will make/break a coaches rep as a disciplinarian.
But I don't buy the "it happens at every program arguement." I mean, sure, it does, but not 7 arrests in a 16 month span happening. I mean hell, MSU hasn't had a single arrest since 2010.
And even if it does, isn't this Michigan, fergodsakes? We should be held to a higher standard (Michigan arrogance at its finest right here). Yes, Hoke can make his rep by giving serious punishments here, but it would go a long way to his rep to prevent these arrests from ever happening.
I know that sounds convoluted because it might actually be. Hoke needs to try and put an end to this, but he can't control what the kids do outside of the football field all the time. He needs to set an example, but for him to set an example, this kind of stuff needs to happen. All of that's true. But this has put me in a shitty mood, and all I care about now is it stopping. Now.
And now potentially Frank Clark too. Holy lack of discipline batman.
7th if you count Furman, who rightfully was acquitted, but he didn't exactly handle himself like a Mcihigan man by losing his temper and having to be held back by girls. This is fine for a school like Ohio or an SEC school, but 7 in a year and a half is too much here. I wonder if anyone will ask Hoke a tough question or 2 about it?
It's going to be painful, especially September 1st, but Hoke has to do the right thing. Lucky for us, it happened far enough away from the season opener where he can be punished without missing games maybe?
You can't really be wishful that he won't miss any game time, then laugh at Tressel, Dantonio, and Meyer when they slap players wrists for running afoul with the law. This is why I wish nobody on this board with ever comment on how our rivals deal with punishing players.
he blew a .12. That was according to the Sherriff I think.
It's not important what he blew on the PBT, only what he blew at the station on the certified breathalyzer machine. Article doesn't say where the "above .08" comes from. Sometimes that makes all the difference. I know that in Indiana, the PBT isn't admissible in court.
silas redd to the rescue?
silas redd to the rescue?
FUCK! Come on Fitz. You can't do these kinds of things being a key player on this team.
I pray he'll be able to play the first game and that he can fix this mess..
Can we petition Delany for a waiver because I mean The Cowboys Classic is such a big event in kids lives and we should not take that away from them. /Tresselled
If this isn't the biggest bag-over-the-head, punch-in-the-face I ever got, GOD DAMN IT!
If I saw him at this moment I would want to "look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?"
""We will use this as an opportunity to educate Fitz and make sure he understands the high standards that we have established within our program." - Brady Hoke, from the Yahoo! Sports article on this
I do at least like that Hoke seems on top of these things and makes players accountable regardless of their importance to the team. This was a very shortsighted thing to do, especially when you're a parent as Fitz is, and hopefully this is a wake-up call and he gets things squared away during the suspension and going forward after the suspension.
FUCK. FUCK. FUCK!!!
thomas rawls, time to step the fuck up.
Please tell me this isn't true! Please tell me it's another Kinesiology Student from Michigan named Frank Clark that was arrested for 2nd degree home invasion.
just a very short time before the start of fall drills.
Saline is not a place to break the law
thread I was looking for.
Shitty shit shit.
Ironic ad placement at the top of my MGoBlog page: The headline reads "A DUI can cost you thousands." It was for some legal service. Nice.
thread I was looking for.
Shitty shit shit.
never. Ever. Submit to a breathalyzer. Always get the blood test. If nothing else it buys you some time.
OK #1, innocent until proven guilty. Granted, it looks bad....looks like Fitz did it... but for once can we just let the process that is in place for this stuff take its course?
#2 Coach Hoke will levy an appropriate punishment at the appropriate time. We aren't SEC. We aren't OSU. We aren't MSU. Coach has that ingrained in him as much or more than any of us. There is no reason to think he won't do the right thing.
#3 If/when Coach does lower the boom on Fitz...... if Fitz pays the price and does what the team asks of him to get back to playing status, I will welcome him back with open arms. All you "one mistake - you're out the door" guys.... well I'm glad you weren't my Dad growing up. People screw up. Hopefully they then pay the price, learn, and change their behavior. If Fitz does that I'd still be proud to see him wearing the winged helmet.
#4 There are other players who can step up if/when Fitz gets his punishment. There are a few more guys who can do some damage... one of those guys is the Dilithium god himself...maybe you've heard of him. Maybe Rawls, maybe Smith.... maybe someone at a position other than RB, or maybe even on the other side of the ball. Honestly, we need all those maybes to step up even if Fitz plays. In order to beat 'Bama we're going to need monumental games from a lot of players, not just whoever is toting the rock at RB.
"We aren't MSU."
I wouldn't get to eff'n smug--two making the papers on the same day ain't exactly choir practice.
We're not saying kids don't do stupid things at Michigan. We're saying that the adults in charge will make appropriate decisions. And yeah, we're smug about that.
Are we really stooping to "how many DUIs do your players have??" arguments and posting links from 2009? College kids everywhere **** up all the time. All that can really be said about it and I really don't think today is the day to be calling out MSU fans.
Well damn! This is some shitty news just getting off a slow easy work day.
The Fitz highlight reel just got erased.
I'm sorry I just got done vomiting what were we talking about?
Well Vincent Smith it's your senior year and your last chance to do something great, don't let us down.
Well guys, the pipe dream of beating Bama was fun while it lasted.
Seen a lot of these posts and I hope every one of you that did so do not waste your time watching the game. One man does not make a team.
You realize half of those posts are said tongue in cheek, right?
This is extremely disappointing. With that being said, I have to wonder about the people saying "Guess we have no chance at Bama now."
Was our gameplan ever really going to be to run Fitz down their throats? I really don't believe so. Not against Bama. This is a blow, but not as huge a blow as some think, in my opinion.
I agree. I think we might fair better against bama with a back like Rawls. Don't get me wrong , fitz is the man but his step back style may look like it did against VT , in the bama game. Rawls has a little more meat on his bones.
A win over bama will be tough with our without Fitz. I think it will all come down on how well our defense plays and more so on Robinson's arm and legs! Special teams and winning the turnover battle will go a long way. I'll be watching the game, cheering the team on, no matter what!
Hopefully, Fitz can turn it around and be ready for the B1G season if Hoke decides to suspends him until the start of B1G season! May be only the season opener? We'll see how hard he works during summer camp!
