I am all for being optimistic, but the entire offense depends on the OL play next year. If Lewan leaves like I expect him to, 4 new guys on the OL could lead to serious growing pains, regardless of Fitz being healthy. Here's to hoping Magnuson and Kalis are all they are hyped up to be! If we get steady play from them, and some solid contributions from Darboh and other WR's, the offense could be good, but that side of the ball could be shaky next season.

Glad to hear that he'll be out of the hospital and on the road to recovery.

Get well soon, Fitz. Hopefully, it is a full and speedy healing and you're back out there as soon as you're able.

I would add that in addition to possible ligament damage, it would be important to know if it was:

a) JUST a tibia fracture

b) tibia-fibula fracture (tib-fib)

c) Pilon fracture where the tibia is fractured extending into the ankle joint

This would change the surgery done. There was also a reason that they did the surgery as an emergency (either it was open or the bloodflow to the foot was affected). If the fracture extended into the joint this would neccessitate more complex surgery (the other fractures can be fixed with rods [higher in leg] or plate and screws [this would likely be done for a lower fracture]).

None of these would be easy to recover from and we will find out more eventually (like in fall camp if he is practicing). Don't expect to see him in the spring though

As a fan I wish and hope for a full recovery. Good luck Fitz!

There's also the idea of patient confidentialiy.  I recognize that as an athlete, his health is important for fans but he has a right to privacy regarding his health like all of us do.  I respect that Hoke keeps it secret even if it's for other reasons.

confidentialiy, I think.

In fact, I'd go a step farther, and state that I also support Hoke's full disclosure policy.

Best wishes for a full and expeditious recovery.

100% and ready to go...best of luck in your recovery!

My hear goes out to you and your family. (A lot of people don't realize Fitz is trying to support a family and was seriously considering the NFL this year to do so --- even without the stellar year).
