For the first activity of Festivus, we will now hear the airing of the MGoGrievances.

1. Reposted thread topics. If you're going to start a new thread, read the first few pages on the MGoBoard to make sure it's not already posted. We've had several posts not just posted twice, but three or four times and it's irritating as fuck because it takes up front page space.

2. Properly label your threads. If it's offtopic, label it offtopic. Make sure people can understand what your thread is about from the title. A good thread starts with the thread title.

3. Please format better. If you want people to take you seriously and actually read your posts, it might be a good idea to have multiple paragraphs and to use capitalization. There's nothing worth than seeing a blob of text with no capitals. It's really harsh on the eyes. If you have something good to say, I want to read your post.

4. I reserve the right to add to this.

if you "Switch to plain text editor" and then use the html commands ("Raoul" excavated ShockFX's old html post from google cache, search under "html").

I have two grievances:

1.) If you try to edit a comment you entered under the plain text editor, it comes back translated into rich text editor and is unreadable, forcing you to start over again. It also turns all line breaks into [horizontal] double spaces. This can happen anytime, for instance, you overlook a quotation mark in a long html command. As of yet I still haven't had a pleasant experience with the "Preview" command, either.

2.) I don't know where to look for an explanation of the new board set-up [how to pos-bang, what is a "karma point," etc.]; the Mgoboard FAQ has nothing to say about the new system.

... I still don't fucking get it.  Nor do I get how a "tweet" from a 16 year old boy can get the people on this board all up in a tizzy.  It's a fuckin text message.  It really means nothing.  You are being played.

Honorable mentions:

Gary Danielson -- douche.

politics and the people who partake in the dark art.

D'Antonio, Saban, Paterno, and Tressel -- seriously, what horrible role models for young men.  Yet, they still are revered by the media because they win at a game.

The media.  What a fucking bunch of insecure jackasses who care more about generating false controversy and ignoring real controversy than they do about discovering the truth and doing what's right.  All for $.

Thank you for listening.  On to the feats of strength.

My grievance isn't with the board, it's with the bowl system in its current form: a racket run for the benefit of local old boy networks at the expense of universities and ultimately taxpayers in most cases. Fortunately Brian has been all over this. Just follow the "burn the whole system to the ground" link in the "bowl-lol update" paragraph in this post:

I've got a problem with those people (including my parents and in-laws) that order gifts online and send them directly to us, requiring us to wrap the gifts ourselves.  Lazy, lazy, lazy!

During the past year, you have disappointed me in the following ways.

People who posts threads on prospects who are never, were never, and had no interest in coming here. Stefon Diggs, Noah Spence, Taylor McNamara, etc.

Too much negging, not enough MGoLove. Often half a thread disappears because someone's pissy. I posbang the crap out of this blog. If you disagree with something click "Reply" and type "I disagree." It's a forum fergodsakes. Sometimes its annoying how any actual discuussion on a topic gets buried on page 4 by 200 posts of "herp de derp" and pics of cats. I love that stuff, but sometimes that's the entire thread.

Agreed and seconded. Negging really should be reserved for actual trolls and people who are just disrespectful. The blog won't grow if people are afraid to type their opinions. Yes you can say points don't matter in the grand scheme of things, but it would probably be more effective to type disagree and explain your thoughts.

You may know this already, but you can alter your settings such that ALL comments appear, even the -1's and 0's.

Below any OP, there is a big heading that says "Comment viewing options." Change the the threshold to [-1]. Save settings. VOILA, flamebait in all its glory.  :)

posts that bother me on mgo, except for the obsession with MSU. For years I have been reading about how sparty is so fucking obsessed with us and yet every other post seems to be about MSU at times, and this year it was more like 80%, for weeks after the loss. After we kick their green and white asses next year, please only spend a week rubbing it in, then move on to the next game. Thank you and have a great holliday season everyone.

Even with the MSU obsession, I still consider you all my mgobros!!!

1. FBS College Football - Can you think of any other sport where you can go undefeated and not have any shot at a championship? No one in college football controls their own destiny. No one.

2. Board Nazis - As you can see by my number of MGoPoints, I don't post much, but I do sometimes. Mainly, I love coming on here and getting information and just seeing the funny reactions to stuff going on. That being said, sometimes it seems like a junior high bitchfest sound board. "Learn the rules" or "this isn't OT." What the fuck is it to you, really? If you don't like it, move on to something else. If it didn't belong there and it is taking up your precious time and space, then you're making the situation worse by writing negative stuff. Just saying.

Wow, that felt good. I am really getting into the spirit of Festivus now. Happy Festivus Everybody!!!

If there are specific comments that were deleted, I would be happy to discuss them with you and try to tell you why they were probably deleted. I've deleted maybe 15 or 20 comments total in the last 5 months, and most of those are racist/homophobic flamebait.

That said, "Tool is coming to Michigan" is not an opinion.

when my post is labeled as spam!  I never use swear words and I don't know why it is spam!   Example:  for the Halloween costume question, I wanted to know if Lloyd Brady was going as Lloyd Christmas or Tom Brady.  SPAM.  really??

As for a non MGOBLOG grievance, I am still annoyed that Armando Gallaraga did not get that perfect game.  He was out, people!  wait....that was 2010.

My grievances against are:

-losing to them four years in a row

-listening to their gripe about being "disrespected" by the sports media

-listening to their gripe against the common football fan choosing Michigan over them and labelling them "Walmart Wolverines"

It's on Sparty!
