Fire Hoke

It's time. There is more than enough evidence. Can anyone give one good reason why this guy should remain head coach at Michigan?  He was a mediocre MAC coach and has shown nothing to suggest that he's capable of leading us to success.  Fire him now, and take Brandon with him.  I'm really not being emotional here, it's just objectively obvious.  The guy is a bad coach.

And it won't happen quickly. Doubt the new president wants to measure his clout early in the game with a power struggle like this when he's trying to downplay sports a little in the first place.

To be honest, what non-Southern team does have sustained success? Oregon gets a lot of love but never wins a Championship. College Football is dominated by the South. Unless we relocate Michigan, it's a serious uphill battle regardless of the Coach.

Some success/competence would be nice, though, wouldn't it? I don't necessarily care if they win a bunch of championships at this point. They're a long way from that. I really don't think Oregon was the best team you could pick to make your point. Let's at least move somewhere halfway between this shit and National Championships.

It doesn't matter who the coach is, you can't win without offensive and defensive lines. We have neither. We have talent, but unfortunately those are areas where young talent doesn't have an immediate impact.

No no.  This is all because Rich Rod didn't recruit enough offensive lineman five fucking years ago.  (Just kidding.  Hoke totally needs to be fired.  This is all on him.)

You all are idiots.

If we reel off 8, 9, 10 straight you all should eat lemons til you turn into one.

If we have another year like last year...I'm right there with you.

But right now, none of us have enough data.

If I would've told you all that we go 11-1 with a blowout to ND, every person in this thread would've taken it and bought their tickets to Indianapolis.

But M left a massive turd on the field tonight. Why can this team not win on the road against even marginal opponents?  Something about their road process sucks.  Also, I do not like many of the position coaches and think M needs younger and more innovative talent.  I like Mattison but can't figure out the defensive plan tonight.  No adjustments even though they carved us up like a thanksgiving turkey in the passing game tonight.  This is f*cked up.

No pass rush.  That is the game.  And no running game.  That is the game. And no passing game. That is the game.  And no good adjustments.  That is the game.  I personally thin M will end up having 9 wins but some changes about the road process are badly needed.  is Hoke still demanidning the team "break a sweat" before road games?  Whatever he is doing before road games, this shit clearly ain't working.

What is embarrassing is the product that has been on the field for the better part of a decade. If you want to sit back and say we'll be better next week or next month or next year...well that has been played out more than enough over the last number of years. It was almost 3000 days between wins against Ohio State. You sir can be okay with that, but I certainly am not. I expect winning, in all our sports and no the else is acceptable. NOTHING! I don't know what it will rake people like you to get it? Maybe start a routine where you walk around all day and just repeat the word NOTHING. Which means there isn't any other possible result that is okay. Just winning. Win. Wins. Fuck, just win!

This isn't 1991 FSU UM is losing to. This is a mediocre ND program that has been losing  on average 4 games a year for three decades.

This is a talented team that is lead by a staff incapable of developing that talent. UM has had the same problems for three years in a row. At some point you have to call a spade a spade.

This team, with the exception of 2011, lacks serious energy in most games. They gave up on this current game midway into the third quarter. I like Hoke-I think he's a good man and a loyal man. However, there needs to be a serious inflow of energy at the top and unfortunately I think Hoke can't provide that spark anymore. The program isn't in shambles by any means but energy, preparation, and effort are seriously lacking.

Jesus fucking christ every fucking year of Hoke's tenure he's had "a very young team."  Rich Rod was fired after being given one less year, and in his last year, he started underclassman all over the place.  Hoke just coached Michigan to Michigan's worst loss in the history of the rivalry.  He's totally overmatched for this job, as appeared to be the case when he was first hired.

Everyone thought they would beat ND at the very least be competitive. The recruiting has been great, how long do you propose we wait on these 4-5 star recruits to "develop"?

Youth is a pathetic excuse in today's college football. It isn't 1974.

Hoke shouldn't have gotten an interview, let alone the job and it is no more evident than tonight.

I thought I heard Kelly say in the on-field postgame interview that he was playing 18-19 freshmen in tonight's game (not all of them starting, obviously)...how is it his freshmen are somehow more prepared to play than Hoke's?

I got so sick of hearing how Hoke was able to get RichRod's players to perform to the capabilities they never achieved while RichRod was here...when the truth is that Hoke hasn't done a single thing to develop the talent he inherited and he sure as hell hasn't developed any of the talent he recruited himself.

We are paying a karmic price for the treatment we gave RichRod and repaying a HEAVY cosmic debt for the 2011 season and the Sugar Bowl win that year.  Hell, with the revelation of Gibbons' issues coming to light last year I can't even feel good about enjoying that year anymore.

You have the audacity to call other people idiots, but you actually think this piece of shit team has a chance to go 11-1? You think a coach who has beaten absolutely fucking nobody is going to lead us to 11 straight wins. You stupid motherfucker.

I enjoy reading your posts, but to suggest that we don't have enough data with this being the start of his 4th year is choosing to ignore what we have all witnessed.  Let's summarize performance to date:

Year 1:  11-2 (Bowl victory w/mostly RR team).

Year 2:  8-5 (Bowl Loss)

Year 3:  7-6 (Blowout Bowl Loss)

Year 4:  1-1 so far (Blowout Loss to ND, first ever shutout in the series history)

Dave Brandon's Standard (Red Letter Games):

2-2 vs. ND (RR was 2-1)

1-2 vs. MSU

1-2 vs. OSU

1-2 vs. Nebraska

1-2 vs. Iowa

0-5 on the road against top 25 on the road.

3-7 in last 10 games (borrowed from another post-3 wins were a miracle against Northwestern, against Indiana giving up 47 pts, and App St).

No one is getting fired mid-season, but I don't see how we wind up beating MSU or OSU on the road.

The icing on the cake for me was when Kelly commented at the end of the game how they had to play 19 freshmen or RS freshman in this game yet somehow clobbered UM was stunning.  I thought you couldn't win with youth.

I told everyone I knew that I felt like UM would win this game, but to lose like this is akin to RR losing to Mississippi State in the blowout bowl game.

That was the consensus. Sure we have played terrible today, but too many people expect 180deg turnaround in too short a time

Otherwise we'll end up with DeBord or English. They're Michigan Men... Hoke can't coach, can't develop and only knows how to pander. This is embarrassing
