It seems like everyone has made it out OK. Anyone on the ground have any idea if it's been put out and/or what the damage is? Would hate to see kids in their first week back on campus forced to move out because of a fire (or Rick's to be shut down).

Edited - Didn't want to just put up Rick's because it seems like it started at Amer's and may not have spread beyond there. Figured 611 Church was an iconic enough address people may get it.

Fire started in Amer's kitchen. I have no idea of what's going on at Rick's, but as a 611 resident, I'm happy to say no appartment occupants were hurt.

A first person account...
I work in the area. The fryer at Amer's was broken in the AM and basically there was a grease fire as they were trying to fix it, I believe it was in the hood above the fryer. There was some smoke, you couldn't see fire unless you looked in the door of Amer's and even then it was out pretty quickly after the fire dept. got there. They blocked off the street, sent 5 fire trucks, deployed the rescue ladder to get to the roof. They checked the exhaust vent on the roof where there was still a small amount of smoke coming from the vent but it probably dissapated before people could see it at that point. Amer's has damage, Ricks probably flooded a little bit with all the drainage. From what I could tell no one was hurt or injured by any means
