Finebaum: "Jim Harbaugh is the Donald Trump of CFB"
I apologize for the link from the Worldwide Leader, but the lead SEC cheerleader Paul Finebaum had an interesting take on Harbaugh ruffling feathers with the SEC, comparing the reaction of SEC coaches to Harbaugh's actions to the reactions of GOP candidates to Donald Trump. Of course he found a way to throw in some love for his beloved SEC:
"The SEC is at the vanguard of college athletics . . . The rest of the country is supposed to be reacting to the SEC, not the other way around. What has Jim Harbaugh done?"
Jim Harbaugh is the Donald Trump of #CFB

Much like Harvard is the Michigan of the east, Donald Trump is the Jim Harbaugh of presidential candidates
P.S. we saw that "no politics" line, took one look at it and crossed right on over.

"Whose got it better than us?"

Jim is making Michigan football great again

....and has way better hair than The Donald.

A low bar.

Jim will build a wall around Michigan in the next recruiting cycle..and make the Spartans pay for it.

They can have a green zone walled off in E. Lansing just like the walled off Green Zone in Iraq/Baghdad.
Perfect naming too "Green Zone".

the City of East Lansing tells them they've been buying water from Flint at a discount?

He's Huuuuuuuge!

*Who's
If that is going to be our rallying cry, let's get it right. Or else we start saying the teem, the teem, the teem.
February 11th, 2016 at 8:36 AM ^
That is that the sec has won and won and won and keeps winning. UM & Harbaugh on the other hand , not so much. Games that matter, not at all.
It's one thing to think your coach is great, it's another to base it on actual wins. Nobody is impressed with Michigan.
When guys like Saban look at UM they see a team they destroyed and would destroy again. They see a team that isn't even the best team in their division, let alone conference. I truly doubt that anyone outside of maybe UCF is really concerned about any top recruits in the south wanting to come to UM. Those guys want to play with the best in all of college football, and UM doesn't have the best in it's own state.

Harvard. The Michigan of The East.
February 10th, 2016 at 6:30 PM ^
No politics, but I hate Trump... one cannot logically compare him to Harbaugh.

"Jim Harbaugh is the Bernie Sanders of CFB"
That work better for ya?
February 10th, 2016 at 6:39 PM ^
Jim Harbaugh's impact on Michigan football is UGE!
February 10th, 2016 at 8:32 PM ^
YUGE?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
now that was funny !!!

February 10th, 2016 at 7:00 PM ^
I was thinking the same thing. Being compared to Trump is not a bad thing at all. Harbaugh wants to bring value back to Michigan football and he is. Teams respect/fear him and kids want to play for him.
February 10th, 2016 at 7:20 PM ^
Are you serious, Clark? Value.
February 10th, 2016 at 7:32 PM ^
Yeah, because you either love Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders...
February 10th, 2016 at 7:41 PM ^
I would shit in both of their hats given the opportunity.
February 10th, 2016 at 8:24 PM ^
That's not fair, Donald would put that hat on, realize his mistake and then change to his backup hair. Bernie would be the one getting shit on here
February 10th, 2016 at 11:34 PM ^
He's 74. Dudes shitting on himself more than anyone else could possibly shit on him.
February 10th, 2016 at 7:38 PM ^
LOL I hardly think you can compare Harbaughs 'meritocracy" to anything Bernie Sanders is espousing. By the same token I dont see how you can compare Harbaughs calculated moves to anything a loose cannon does or says. Oy vey we have some poor choices this election cycle on either side of the aisle.
February 10th, 2016 at 8:52 PM ^
There are several good selections -- of regulatory capture -- on both sides of the aisle. :)
February 10th, 2016 at 7:54 PM ^
because Bill Snyder is the Bernie Sanders of CFB. His hair is about the same if less messy, he has the same initials, and he's been adept at doing more with less.
February 10th, 2016 at 8:03 PM ^
Then that whole meritocracy thing would be thrown out the window.

Ok, somehow saying comparing Harbaugh to Bernie Sanders doesn't work because that means no "Meritocracy" has made it through the "No Politics" gatekeeper.
So, since we've tossed that old standard for board discourse out the window, I'll just put it put there:
How is being "Too big to fail, and too connected to jail" a "Meritocracy"?
It can fairly be called an "Old Boys Network", the "Status Quo", or even "Business as Usual"...but I don't see how any definition, of whatever political stripe, could in good conscience call that a "Meritocracy"
The difference is YUGE!
February 10th, 2016 at 9:39 PM ^
Jowks bra!
February 11th, 2016 at 12:04 PM ^
I see a smattering of downvotes, but not one explanation of how the "Business as Usual" bailouts were a Meritocracy?
February 10th, 2016 at 8:05 PM ^
He never stops working and not a lie has crossed his lips. Plus, he's damn loony. And always damn excited. Yes, harbaugh is Bernie.
February 11th, 2016 at 6:16 AM ^
So Harbaugh is going to address the vast talent and revenue inequality in the B1G by taking players and cash from the 14% (UM/OSU) for distribution among the lesser teams that the system is rigged against? YAY?
February 10th, 2016 at 8:41 PM ^
With Bernie we don't have to play the games. Everyone goes 6-6 every year and shares 120th of the championship. After all they all deserve the same.
February 10th, 2016 at 10:06 PM ^
At least seven people don't understand the premise of socialism...bern victims
February 10th, 2016 at 10:44 PM ^
They make everyone wear the same regulation clothing, which they don't even own, eat in communal dining halls, and watch someone else get the profits from their labors.
February 10th, 2016 at 10:55 PM ^
But they do get to go college for free. Not a bad deal.
February 10th, 2016 at 11:17 PM ^
Not bad...get a college education so you can earn more for the collective. But then again what's the incentive for putting yourself through all that hard work when the other guy can do it and just provide for you.
February 10th, 2016 at 11:31 PM ^
Democratic Socialism - the difference is YUGE!
February 11th, 2016 at 10:43 AM ^
Keep telling yourself there's a huge difference.. Bernie supporters can polish a turd but it's still a turd. It's like saying suicide is better than being murdered. The outcome is the same. "The goal of socialism is communism." Lenin (Not the Beatle...for all the bern vcitims)
Insanity. Only capitalism enables people to become so comfy and fat to percieve themselves as poor victims simply cause someone else has more.
February 11th, 2016 at 11:56 AM ^
You HATE people who think their political views are so important it makes them above the "No Politics" rule - right?
HATE them...like a polished turd, right?!
February 11th, 2016 at 3:57 PM ^
Hey, asshole...that's when the thread was 20 posts old and Icertainly expected to have it deleted. But, if people are going to come on here espousing the wonders of a backward economic death spiral then I'm going to speak up. So yea, Dick.
