Just a heads up. We're 1-0 in the jerseys.
Uni-Watch: Maize on Maize (on Maize) this afternoon for Michigan.#MICHvsMSU
So, Nik Stauskas is out here in the bright maize 'bleed out' uniforms.
I would have prefered the black socks/shoes "big game" approach, but yeah, recalibrate your TV
Of course, our defense is just as foolish, so...
Whatever they think will help them win.
Go Ducks
Forgive my lack of Uniformz history knowledge, but wasn't @MSU the only time we've worn these? Am I remembering that correctly?
If so, why were they not burned with fire? Lots and lots of fire.
I don't usually compain about the silly things we do with our uniforms--even in football--but these are truly horrific. What makes all of our uniforms look great is the sharp contrast between the "maize" and the navy blue.
I take back anything I've said against these jerseys. I was wrong, and I love it.
Need to focus less on sweet unis and more on not losing to teams like Penn State.
Ordinary good sense compels me to not worry about it, if the team likes them. If it fires up the players, I'm ready to just roll with it.
But let's not kid ourselves as intelligent observers of matters between adidas and the University of Michigan Athletic Department. There is nothing that is particularly unique about this idea. It is just another template from adidas. It doesn't look very good; it is a little hard to distinguish players; and there is nothing about it that speaks to Michigan, or tradition, or anything else. It looks like marketing, which is exactly what it is.
What I wish more than anything is that Arby's would issue a matching "Maize bleed-out" container for curly fries. Then we might really have something.
I actually like them considering what the alternative could be with adidas...
1. I like the jerseys. Blasphemy, for sure.
2. We're now 2-0 in said jerseys.
I actually don't mind them, but am anti neon pads/socks/shoes, which make us look like giant bananas. Wish they'd accessorize with all black as a nod to the iconic Fab 5 look.
