It is intriguing really that Notre Dame went from "others receiving votes" in the preseason to #1 in the AP poll, whereas USC went from #1 in the preseason poll to "others receiving votes". Other then that, the most interesting aspect is that 15 teams in the December 2nd poll were also in the preseason poll, and Alabama, Oregon and Georgia went full-circle and are ranked now at exactly the same position thet were in the preseason poll.

And talking of the preseason poll, I think most people on this board felt uncomfortable with Michigan's preseason ranking because it seemed too high, especially with the schedule.

...that just shows we couldn't beat elite teams this season and that's bad. I'm not counting the Nebraska game since that was a gift for them and then they blew their opportunity to get to the Rose Bowl. We handed it to them and they still couldn't get there, which is more proof that Michigan belonged in the Big Ten title game and not Nebraska.
