Sorry but you're just being sadistic. He just sounds like a nice dude who is taking the loss harder than he should. He didn't say "Fuck Burke" or even bash his own team.

Slightly funny. Mostly weird lol. I was being mostly sarcastic about the OP being sadistic, but I still don't see the point of making a post showing a Kansas fun bummed out about the loss. Like most people said in that schadenfreude thread, I have nothing against Kansas, and their fans weren't apoplectic. Schadenfreude is funnier when it's some fan having a ridiculous meltdown and bitching about everything and everyone associated with the game, because it makes him seem like a nutcase dick who deserves the suffering he's going through. But I don't even read those threads usually.

Not laughig at Kansas fan, what was funny though is the DJ wanting to laugh himself. @ 51 sec he laughs then trys to play it off by saying "its tough".

I dont recall anyone crying when we lost to Appy St or at anytime during the 2008 season.  If anyone had a right to cry it was us.  But I guess Kansas has only basketball to root for and for the occasional cow tipping contest, there is nothing to do outside of BB season.

Meh. This win was something I'll remember the rest of my life but I've never hated Kansas. Now if that were a Duke fan or a UNC fan or a Kentucky fan or one of our rivals crying, I'd be laughing my ass off.

Having created two threads in the past year that have been pulled by the mods, I consider myself somewhat of an expert on dumb threads.  This is a dumb thread.

have been mostly respectful.  I'm not sure why the OP was negged though, other than having the nerve to open a thread with less than 1000 MGoPoints.  I'm glad this was posted, and intense fandom is what makes college sports awesome.  Crying is over the top, but gotta admire his passion.

Just saying.

But yeah -- I certainly harbor no ill will toward Kansas, their coach, or their fans. But their fans have certainly tasted a LOT of success on the hardwood in the past 20 years. We...have not. Time for a change.

FWIW my brother was at the game and said the Kansas fans were very cool and fun to hang with both before and AFTER the game.  Respectful, knowledgeable and very into basketball - sort of like how we'd like others to think about us if you think about it.

Sorry but I get no enjoyment making fun of another fan's pain. Especially a fan of a team I hold no ill-will towards and generally admire. And besides...... I know just how he feels given how many of those shots we've been on the recieving end of recently.

I don't get any enjoyment out of this. I've found the Kansas fans to have handled all of this with incredible class, and have not seen one negative posting against us. I think all this schadenfreude stuff makes us look pretty juvenile compared them.

People invest varying amounts of their personal pride in whatever they choose to.  All of us here on this blog do invest a degree of our pride in the success of our college teams.  We care.  As the prize gets closer, that level of caring increases.  Kansas really only has their basketball team.  It's the jewel of that university.  Michigan is a football school, but we point to excellence in basketball, swimming, hockey, etc., etc. to spread the wealth.  Thus less likely we overinvest pride in any one sport.

Regardless, there's no excuse for getting that emotional over your team unless you're a direct family member or a close friend of one of the coaches/players.  The message it sends is that you have zero else going on in your life worth much to you.  Sad.

No knock on KU directly, just fans that cry over losses in general.  Getting upset? Sure.  Crying?  Please visit Stuart Smally and re-evaluate your personal affirmation priorities.
