A few minor recruiting notes 12/24

247 sports has an article about the top 25 2012 recruits in the Midwest. Of the 25, Michigan has 6 of them (Kalis, Wormley, Ross, Richardson, Strobel, an Darboh).

On Kyle Kalis they said, "The thing that stands out is just how strong he is and how dominant a run blocker he is. He also shows you that he has the athleticism to play tackle and take on the elite speed rushers on the edge.”

On Wormley, "He will be a massive human being once he gets into a college weight room. He is like Spence and Washington, but he is a bigger guy that still is pretty explosive off the snap. He has good burst and plays with good pad level." They also included his junior and senior stats, he had 90 tackles and 12 sacks as a junior and he had 85 tackles with 24 tackles for loss and 13 sacks as a senior.

On Ross, “Ross is one of the more instinctive players in the country. He always seems to be around the ball. He doesn’t waste many steps or movements in finding the ball carrier and making plays. He’s just a smart, fast football player." They included his stats from his last three years which totaled to 312 tackles and 15.5 sacks.

On Richardson, they said he has some of the best recovery speed in the country and they even made this comparison "You look at the success Blake Countess had this year for Michigan. He’s not much bigger than Terry and Terry may have more upside when it comes to being able to run.”

On Strobel, his senior stats were 68 tackles with 16 sacks and he has a GPA of 3.9.

On Darboh, they gave his stats from the last three years which showed his continued improvement. He had 1 TD as a sophomore, 6 TDs as a junior, and 11 TDs as a senior.

St. Louis today has an article about Jehu Chesson's decision to commit to Michigan. He says one major reason he chose Michigan is that "Iowa and Northwestern are very, very good schools, but in the end it just kind of came down to the guys in the recruiting class," Chesson said. "So I felt more comfortable with them than anything else, so I felt like that was the most important thing."

Last night was the California High School All Star Game, this game featured Michigan commit Erik Magnuson. Erik didn't have any stats because he was on the offensive line, but he was one of the captains of his team and started at left tackle (from Scott Kennedy's twitter).
