A few minor recruiting notes 12/21

According to Sam Webb's twitter Michigan offered 2014 DL Bryan Mone, he is a teammate of Sione Houma. It is believed that this is Michigan's first 2014 offer... According to Wolverine 247, Michigan also offered 2013 DE Alquadin Muhammed from Don Bosco Prep (Yuri Wright's school), he is rated as the top strong side DE on 247, and he has interest in Michigan... Jared Shanker (Espn) reported on twitter that 2013 DE David Kenney III is expecting the Michigan coaches to offer him soon...Scout.com had a free article about Big Ten recruiting and it mentioned a few new names on Michigan's radar. The first was Birmingham Brother Rice junior (2013) defensive end Sergio Perkaj. He is 6-4 and had 60 tackles an 10 sacks this year. And the second is 2012 DB Mike Abiragi of Warren De La Salle. The article says he may pick up a late BCS level offer, but he is also a Michigan preferred walk-on candidate. Is Abiragi's name spelled wrong or is he not in Rival's database?  But I'm cool with any walk-on candidate.

Very interesting that our first 2014 offer is to a kid from Utah.

Mike Abiragi is a fantastic kid with good speed, a fantastic attitude, and shows no fear. He played strong safety, running back, and returned punts for DLS. As the RB he was the main guy and if they needed a first down they would go to him. I really hope he goes blue because he would be a great wolverine and I know he wants to go to med school and I last time I checked U of M has a pretty good one.

I think it's about time someone (a mod?) makes the 2013 Offer List, posted a few months ago, a sticky under the Useful Stuff tab, no?

  I think it is all about being the first one to show interest, making that first great impression and securing a special place in the heart of a recruit.  Your first one is always special.

 

  I love that we are making inroads with sophomores.  Let's get those folks interested in Michigan and make the rest hustle to catch up.
