Ferrigno will not return as TEs coach; Marrow offered

So @TomLoy247 tells me Dan Ferrigno will not return as Michigan's tight end coach.

Vince Marrow, come on up.

He was also the special teams coordinator. Wonder if HARBAUGH will hire someone for that. Hopefully, because the special teams have been lacking for quite some time here in terms of return game threats. Lord knows we have the speed to run them back.

Michigan's hasn't returned a punt for a TD since Odoms did at Purdue in 2008. Haven't returned a kickoff for a TD since Stonum vs ND in 2009. Michigan has only returned a kickoff for a TD twice in the 21st century.

edit: Vince Marrow has been offered.

While I never want to celebrate someone losing their job, I think in just about every case, cleaning house is the best course of action for the team. Not one unit last year truly excelled. Hope Ferrigno can find a new job elsewhere.

This entire staff needs to go, including Mattison and Jackson, in my opinion. This team has played like they are entitled for years. No one is afraid of Michigan anymore. Our players don't play tough, physically and especially mentally. When they get punched in the mouth, so to speak, they don't know how to respond.

Mattison hasn't done much with a decent amount of talent, except for that 1st season. Every good offense we played ripped us to shreds this season.

I understand the reasons for keeping Mattison...recruiting, continuity, etc. so I guess I'll live with that, lol.

It's not just about kick/punt returns for TDs. It's about game changing plays, blocked kicks/punts, pinning the opponent deep in their territory, hitting tough FGs, getting 2 point conversions, etc. None of which we've done well lately. As for dancing, ugh. I'll just take some straight up PEPPER(s).

"Feel lot more confident Marrow stays than 24 hours ago."

I don't have a rivals account, but someone tweeted back that some KY Rivals guy posted something similar.

Who knows...thought I'd share.

Posted this in the Searchbits article but it probably fits this post better.

First two sentences of the article:

"Word on the street is that Harbaugh was trying to lure Kentucky's best recruiter, Vince Marrow, to Ann Arbor. After that news came word that Vince turned down the Wolverines."

Hopefully this is just wishful thinking by a Kentucky Fan Site, seems like Marrow would be a good addition to HARBAUGH's staff.

Morrow is going to use the interview and offer to raise his fame and clout. With the increase in his profile, he's going to use it to build his recruiting for Kentucky. As a result, Michigan takes a hit in Ohio recruiting and Kentucky gets a bump. He never had any intention of coming to Michigan.
