Felony Charge for Arenas

Surefire way to show there's no messing around, wonder if he still thinks it's funny.

even find an Arenas jersey in a Goodwill store down here. It's like he does not exist. Not that I'm interested in buying one of course. Is that why they call him "Agent 0"?

First of all, he's a total idiot and has what is coming to him. You don't want guns in the house around your kids? Get rid of them. Dispose of them however one would (I don't own any guns, but I assume "throwing in the trash" does not apply here). But all things considered - the 5 year thing is a max penalty. He likely won't get that. However, I don't know a lot about the gun laws around there, but I would imagine that it's not Manhattan/Plaxico stringent. He'll lose his contract with the Wizards and then it will be interesting to see if some team picks him up (Vick) or it becomes an unwritten rule to stay away from Arenas (Barry Bonds). My guess would be "like Vick" but who knows. Also I think another thing to learn here is - what he is losing is mere peanuts compared to Tiger Woods. A friend and I did a quick calculation and he's probably lost half a billion dollars from this mess (depending on how much Elin gets and if any more sponsors drop him). Just goes to show kids - if you are an athlete and can't keep your dick in your pants (who can?), NEVER get married. It would be a better idea to get a gun.

You are probably correct. I thought that the Verizon center was akin to FedEx field and not actually located in DC. Gilbert's attorney is trying to cop a plea, anyway. What's the guess here? I say ~6 months to a year in jail, heavy probation / fines.

First of all, DC is pretty strict about guns. Second, can you show me your Tiger calculation? I'm kind of curious how much he's lost since I dislike him a lot. Finally, I'm sick and tired of athletes and celebrities. Frankly, it seems like there are hardly any of them worth looking up to (and be careful, because you never know what the "good ones" do behind closed doors). I hope America's glorification of these people comes to an end soon. It's cool to admire them for being good at their sport, but being good at a sport really really doesn't deserve the large role that they play in American society. And it's too bad, because Arenas was/is one of the more fan friendly NBA players out there. For example, I thought it was cool that he sent two time $10 to fans with whom he bet that he'd hit the winning shot. Now I wonder, however, what he would have done if he hit it and the fans didn't pay him (would he lay guns on their seats and ask them to pick one?)
