to play football, not to play trumpet
This feels too important to post as a comment.
Gator fans cut your power out after Michigan victories?
Just looked out the window, and my house is the only one on the block with the lights still on. It will be a good day at work tomorrow.
"It will be a good day at work tomorrow."
As someone who works with both Florida and Ohio fans, I am completely with you on this sentiment!
I live in Indiana, and can't wait to get to work (can't believe I said that)..
Already told that Michigan doesn't deserve the Final Four. Work is fun indeed when Msu fans are salty. Wish I had a gator or jayhawk coworker
I live in Indiana too and everyone at work this morning are congradulating me! I was a bit suprised. Maybe its some April fools joke?
I work at home now, but I am definitely going to find a few Gator fans here in the Tampa Bay area to talk sports with.
If you have a laptop, I suggest dressing in full Michigan garb and working at your local Starbucks.
4 down 2 to go Go Blue!
I'd bet that it has nothing to do with Easter.
Considering that most Florida fans are godless cretins, I'd agree with you.
Except for Mary and Joseph Tebow.
I don't want to know what a non-freakishly quiet night is like in Florida. Guess I could watch COPS.
ITs quite because everyone in town is working at Waffle House right now.
more effective if you spell it correctly
*Damn autocorrect in iPhone.
The Florida fans in our section today were really quite easy to get along with. Of course an early 15 point deficit shuts a lot of fan bases up......
Were you in Gainsville yet in 2003 when Ron Zook called the halfback pass against us in the Outback Bowl? Braylon doing the Gator chomp was a fun sight.
Speaking of this, did anyone see the kids at the end of the game do the gator chomp twice then wave their arms in front of them? That was awesome.
I noticed it for sure. It looked like they had a little cheer going. They'd do the gator chop, then swing their arms in front of them like the "no-good" motion for a field goal in football, and then repeat. Pretty genius kids.
I wonder if it could be worked into the IO chant somehow in a hilarious way...
Nothing wrong with that...I mean, you could be living in East Lansing after they lose.
Gainesville right now would feel like Heaven.
Everyone is still inside crying their tears of unfathomable sadness, or they're just realizing that they don't care and are waiting for football to start.
That's cold blooded.
I have relatives in KC - I don't hear a lot of noise from that direction. My daughter was receiving a lot of texts from her Jayhawk cousin at the beginning of the game.
I have a relative who is a Florida grad - pretty quiet down there.
I have a good friend who is an IU grad. You can be sure I heard from him earlier this year. I just told him that I was anxiously awaiting the Michigan/IU matchup in the tournament, but that I couldn't find IU listed, which seemed odd given there were only 4 teams. His only response was "Bite Me". How unoriginal.
Having graduated from Florida during the Tebow and oah championship runs, i can tell you that Gainesville is a heck of a place to party when the Gators win. Other than making decent size trees march down the road, there is no burning of anything. I can only imagine last night they were drinking their sorrows away. At least last nights game meant one of my teams made the final four!
Looking forward to the beginning of lecture Monday, but has me worried that our exam Wednesday will be insanely difficult to spite everyone.
plus insignificant losses by college men in the grander picture tends to dampen the desire to party.
There is a mix of Spartan and Buckeye fans in various corners of the building here. Some of them even made the effort to tell me that they did not think much of Michigan's chances against Kansas before I left last Wednesday for an extended weekend. Today, not a word - indeed, some of them are doing their best to look buried in paperwork. It's a wonderful sight in a way.
I live in Orlando, and when I came into work this morning, I had numerous coworkers who are Florida State fans come up to me and high five/congratulate me on the win yesterday. Haven't been approached by any Gator fans yet, though...
Gator Grad student checking in here. Definitely watched yesterday's game in the solace of my own home. Didn't want to burn any bridges with the Gator faithful. I would say most grad students here come from other schools with less notorious sports programs, so many of them join the Gators unanimously. They didn't understand that my loyalty lies with my undergrad school.
Sure was satisfying burying the last team standing in the way for our Final Four berth. If we are as on as we were yesterday, I don't think anyone can stop us.
