Favorite play from 2009 season

Just curious to know what everyone's favorite play was from this past season. I would have to say that mine was Tate's fourth down TD run against Notre Dame.

he wasn't able to break free on every subsequent carry. He did have the following stats: 69 carries for 409 yards (5.1 yard/carry average), and 5 TDs, despite everyone knowing he's running the ball every time. These stats could easily be mistaken for some level of success.

Ricky lived across the hall from me my freshman year in Markley. It was great to see him get a little playing time (even if it was Delaware State, and yes I know he scored a td against Wisconsin). He's one of the nicest guys I met at school.

Watching Tate take Michigan down the field vs. MSU. He was worn out at that point, could barely get a grasp of what was happening. Tate to Roundtree...sums up the season.

Cone-to-Reyes, actually, but I just wanted to toss out some love for Warren's INT against IU, because it gave us two very important things: our only freakin' conference win, and the Bill Lynch gum heave.

I'm glad you said this, because I thought for some strange reason that I was crazy for feeling this exact same way. Every time I see this video, I am possessed to replay to watch BG absolutely own Winston. Thanks to Dantonio for giving him a "second chance" to see BG kill him. This is, without a doubt, my favorite play of the season.

The game winner v. ND is a great choice but my favorite moment from that game, and the season, was Tate's run straight up the middle v. ND -- I was was just shocked to see a Michigan quarterback pull that off.

-Stonum's kick return vs ND -Tate's TD run vs ND, where Fleming lost his jock strap -Mathews GW TD vs ND -Denard's fumbled snap he took for 6 vs WMU -Stonum's TD catch and run vs MSU -Donovan's pick 6 at Iowa -Everything Roy Roundtree did those last few weeks -BG. Nuff said

Tate's leaping TD in the Indiana game, which may not be favorite of the season but I think it is definitely worth mentioning. I would embed the video if I could...(hint hint)

My wife isn't much of a football fan; primarily because she doesn't understand all the rules, positions, plays, etc. and thinks it's just too complex to really follow. She kind of barely gets the offense, mostly because she can just focus on the quarterback, and from watching him at least follow the plays as they develop. She likes this, and over the last couple years has incrementally watched more and more football with me (though my own football watching budget is very limited). She's always just given up on the defense though, because "it's just a bunch of guys running around and then someone tackles the guy with the ball". This year I told her she should try to pay attention to the defense because it can be just as exciting as the offense. She was skeptical, but after the beginning of the year I told her all she had to was to focus on one player at a time. Try just watching #55. She loved it. She watched the Tivo'ed games with me just to see what he'd do, bitched at all the no-call holds by the blind refs, you name it. Thank you Brandon Graham for helping my wonderful wife enjoy football more. Her best quote was "Is he that good, or are the rest of them that bad?" (both the opponents offense AND the rest of our defense) yes.

For sheer drama, Savoy's drop in the endzone against Notre Dame is one of my favorites. I know, 'WTF kind of favorite play is that!?', but with no timeouts left, Tate scrambling and impossibly getting a pass away to a presumably open Savoy-DROPPED!!! McDonough roars- the crowd roars, we all roar-OMG!!!- the freakin' highs and lows of that play were fantastic. Of course it wouldn't have been as pleasantly memorable had it not proceeded the completion to Mathews for the game winner.

1) Tate's first TD pass, where he motioned Hemingway to head towards the end zone, and they cashed it in. Everything was still pure, and hope was as high as it has been in quite some time. Everyone felt good about everything. 2) Denard's 1st run. Our first look at Shoelace-porn, if you will. I think the CIL had about 6,000 WTF!!! posts, and about 12,000 SHOELACE!!!! posts, all at the same time. Me, I laughed for about 15 minutes straight, still in disbelief about what I had just witnessed.

It was my first game ever in the Big House and we were playing Indiana. We get the ball late in the fourth and Tate drives all the way down the field. Its been cloudy and raining all day, but then the sun bursts out, Tay Odoms gets behind the secondary and Tate drops it in for the touchdown. An amazing ending to my first game there. Theres nothing like it in the world

My faves are: 1. Stonum's KO return 2. Tate's 4th down TD run Honorable mention for its awesomeness: Tate's pooch punt that was chased down by Stonum. Awww, hell... how about a nice recap of that glorious day:

The fact that I can think of more than a handful of plays from this season that were exciting just gives me more hope for the future and proves to me that the offense improved significantly. Thank you to the OP and everyone who posted for reminding me of all the good that we saw this season.
