The Fastest Wolverine Race

Submitted by Ziff72 on

During the game they showed us the grainy Zapruter film of the Wolverines racing at practice. Chesson won but they had a near dead heat for 2nd between Lewis, Peppers and a guy that I believe was wearing a #2 jersey.

No legends jersey this year so nobody is listed on the roster as being #2.  Anyone know who # 2 is?   Did I see that wrong?  My DVR got deleted so I was curious if anyone else broke down the footage and noticed it or spotted anything else interesting from the tape.

My guess for mystery  #2 was Washington.

Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

But variables exist. You're assuming both are the same speed now. Chesson has had 5 years of college S&C and technique. Peppers obviously has more overall athletic talent, but Chesson easily beat him in the vid they showed Sat. My point is that you don't know, that we can't know anything definitive beyond "both dudes are really fast" outside of a side by side controlled race where both are running as fast as they can the entire time because they're trying to beat the other and there's no other distractions . I would love to see that.

My last question is about this Michigan Mile. A couple of the guys have talked about it. What's your plan? Is that to reset the week? Is that how you approach the Michigan Mile? Every Monday, is that correct?

I think it's a couple things. Number one, conditioning. Number two, just get the lactic acid out. Get the – make the body feel better. It's good to- what did you say? Reset?”

Reset.

I think distance running does that. Kind of coordinate your whole mind, your body with some distance running.”

Do you run it?

No, I don't. Of course, I didn't play a game. I don't have a whole lot of lactic acid buildup. But yeah, it's been good. It's been competitive. Pearson's been winning the last couple, and then today we've got a good idea. Think it'll make it more competitive. Kind of handicap it a little bit, let some of the bigger guys have a head start. I think that's the…what do you call it? Handicapping?”
