Thanks for posting these. I'm not sure if I had seen an interview with Kenny Demens before, but he seems pretty sharp . . . .

Seemed like a super nice dude today too!
August 14th, 2011 at 6:20 PM ^
It's really too bad we can't hear the questions being asked. Sometimes it's impossible to know who Hoke is talking about.
August 14th, 2011 at 6:37 PM ^
Yeah, I agree. Sometimes it's like what is he.. UDDERS EVERYWHERE.
whoa sorry. um I think Hoke made up the word "Progressant" or "Progressent" in this press conference at about 6:36 but that's all I could really udders..

Last year mgoblue had unedited pressers. I'm not a big fan of how they're doing it now either.

Thanks for posting. For being a guy who lives in Korea, you are sure on the ball about posting these.

Today (Monday) is a holiday here, independence day, otherwise known as V-J day.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:45 PM ^
How are V-J's compared to Z-J's??
August 14th, 2011 at 7:00 PM ^
Lewan cracks me up.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
Molk and Lewan should start a comedy duo act

Who is the young guy with the recorder behind Coach Jackson? A blogger, perhaps?
August 14th, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
I don't know, but from the look of it he really hates his job.
August 14th, 2011 at 10:07 PM ^
I picture the thought bubble above his head to read "Could you just talk clearly into this fucking thing and make it quick I have some more blow to do."
August 14th, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
Haha it sucks if he hates his job already. He just got the new gig at AnnArbor.com like 2 months ago!

"I'm tired, I usually sleep in until noon on Sundays, I drove 3 miles to get here and ate too many carbs at the media day brunch" guy.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:13 PM ^
Thanks for posting this, and I love the sense of tight team chemistry that these interivews show.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:23 PM ^
..but it looks like they're still using the old jersey cut for this season, which is kind of surprising.
I'm not a big fan of the new square collar Adidas uni -- but at least it's tight fitting and doesn't seem to fall apart by mid season.. unlike this cut the past two.
Sigh.. I want to like you Adidas, but you make it so hard.
August 14th, 2011 at 8:01 PM ^
What about the away jerseys? Are those going to change any? I hope they've gotten rid of the curved stripe running up the sides.
August 14th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
but the snaggletooth cut is still there, so prepare yourself.
August 14th, 2011 at 10:42 PM ^
I wonder if they decided not to wear the tight-fit cut for media day. Those seem to be extremely tight fitting which might be tough to wear without pads. Also, as for away jerseys, I am putting money that we will have new away jerseys. M Den doesn't have the authentic away jersey for sale in the newest catalog release, only the replica (that is entirely different looking).

The guy standing behind Coach Jackson in that interview gives me the creeps.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
Yeah, I've seen him pull that same creepy move in other interviews before. Kind of an oddball.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:32 PM ^
The reason I asked the question above (about who that is) is that I think it could be Tim. Am I right?
August 14th, 2011 at 7:39 PM ^
Not Tim.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:44 PM ^
annarbor.com's Kyle Meinke?
August 14th, 2011 at 8:07 PM ^
Ahhh yes, just came here to post that.
August 14th, 2011 at 8:38 PM ^
yep that's him. he looks coked up out of his mind in that video.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:38 PM ^
Yeah someone needs to catch that predator. :)
On a serious note, it is nice to hear our defensive coaches talk and feel confidence in what they are saying. Gerg was an odd interview to say the least. When it was over you wanted to tell him he did a great job but only because he got through it. Kind of like your first time off the high dive and you do a pin drop but everyone tells you it was great.
August 14th, 2011 at 9:21 PM ^
Did anyone else catch his "head whip" at 0:26? Absolutely hilarious. His hair isn't even that long, yet he couldn't refrain from whipping his imaginary locks out of his face.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
Lewan is one big boy. He towers over everyone. Also, I have to say I'm disappointed that they aren't wearing the new tech-fit jerseys this year. :( Those really looked sharp when some players were wearing them in the spring

August 14th, 2011 at 11:37 PM ^
How does that guy have a Justice Hayes jersey?
August 14th, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
Shaw looked bigger as well his neck was bigger than the last time I seen him.
August 14th, 2011 at 8:20 PM ^
Up North we say that his neck was bigger than the last time you saw him.
August 14th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
When did we start using "you" in place of "I"?
August 14th, 2011 at 8:55 PM ^
All of this stuff just gets me hungry for the real thing!
Taylor Lewan's future is bright, eh? He's a natural in front of the camera and he brings the best out in his team mates. I won't be surprized to see him doing Branstatters job some day!

Thanks for these videos!
The most interesting part to me was in the Fred Jackson video when they asked him who he would put at RB if he had to choose today.
He dodged the question with coachspeak of course, but followed that up by saying that he was confident that someone would really take over within a couple games.
Now, I know Coach J has a tedndency to be overly positive. But the way he made that comment made me think that he has already noticed a couple kids who are really showing what they got.
I'm confident that by Game 3 we will have our full-time guy. It might not be the guy who starts against WMU. But if anyone remembers, it took two games (including a loss to ND) and some injuries before Mike Hart emerged. And the rest was history.

Holy cow, Zach Johnson looks like a younger, de-dreadlocked Ruud Gullit.

This should be upgraded to diary status. It certainly meets the criteria for being informative.

are great together. Love watching these guys.
