Experienced MGoBloggers Comments

Not sure this is possible, but I would think it would be interesting to have a discuss limitied to the most experienced MGoBloggers (those with >10,000 points???) about what their thoughts wrt the direction the program ought to head -- stay the course, fire GERG, nuke the entire D staff...

Keeping it to the most experience MGoBloggers would eliminate the pictures of people lighting farts and the snarky comments.  Most of them have probably expressed such an opinion, but this would consolidate their thoughts at one spot.

EDIT:  The original idea was to try and use MGoPoints as a proxy for Block M's suggestion for a discussion for which the participants had to pass some sort of football knowledge competency test first.  Based on the response, I now recognize the error of my way.  MGoPoints and football knowledge are not necessarily correlated.  My apologies to any I have offended -- I let my MGoDreams cloud my MGoJudgment.

I have to agree.  People tend to vote up sarcastic, funny posts and pictures.  However, if one *starts* a thread with a new idea or starts a thoughtful discussion, people usually forget to upvote the thread.  I think this is simply because people don't see "12 points" or whatever number of votes the thread has gotten (like they see on a reply) -- it always stays stuck at "1 point" and not many people think to vote on the thread (unless it's a TomVH, Brian, or Tim thread, or a thread that everyone hates, in which case it gets a ton of -1 votes).

All I can say to that is if you feel it's good, upvote it.  You have your opinion and viewpoint, who cares if others think it's good or not.  That shouldn't impact your decision.  I am sure that most people on here have great views and do not need the influence of others on their decisions.

I think this site is great already, and this just a peripheral improvement suggestion.  Without my suggestion, this site is still the best.  Nice discussion and I really like the different thoughts.

Hate to break it to you, but the vast majority of my MGoPoints are because of my snarky comments.

Until recently, all (yes, every last one of them) of my MGoPoints were due to snarky comments or pictures.

Now, they're for the pony avatar - a gentle reminder to everyone that you probably shouldn't come to me for football analysis.

Wow, you are good. Your post about how you only get points from snarky comments is going to get a +1 from me because it is in fact funny. You are manipulating me, I know it, and there is nothing I can do about it.

DAMN YOU.

I have wondered this for some time.  How is it even humanly possible to accumulate so many negative points?  You would think your point total would go up periodically by accident through people hitting reply to one of your posts (like I just did).

What on earth did you do or post that created that large of a neg-bomb to go off?

Now that I think about it perhaps thats the group that ought to get together and start a thread.  Minus 500 or worse only allowed to participate in the roundtable discussion.  I can only imagine what would come out of that post.

What would be interesting is to have a discussion where everyone had to pass some sort of football knowledge competency test first. I could get behind that.
