Quick question: What is the excitement level in the MGO Family with regard to the BBQ this weekend? Any idea about possible commitments? Offers? Surprises? Let's Go!
This is maaaaybe premature there, ESPN. Maryland #1 FWIW.
Plump, but still squishy.
Pretty pumped myself! Hopeful! Give it an 8
I'm just curious to see the reaction by Fournette after the visit. I found this profile on him on ESPN's site. Kinda funny because he mentions fans telling him to "come to their BBQ." Was going to post this in a new thread, but this will do as well. I'd embed the video, but that never seems to work for me.
Serious! We got a shot! Education is number issue!
The fact that he likes to study business and engineering and we're kinda OK in that department certainly doesn't hurt.
Not if you're a liberal arts major
I read this comment with a Russian accent.
Looks like they did one on George Campbell too:
Seeing some of these kids with braces makes me feel really old. You forget how young they are sometimes.
I know reading YouTube comments are dumb...but the comments left on fournette's video made me lose faith in humanity
Fournette may not be coming after all, at least according to his uncle who's attended all of his other visits
Love this ....
Bill Cosby for the Win!
Not going to get my hopes up for Fournette. Not going to get my hopes up for Fournette. Not going to get my hopes up for Fournette. Not going to get my ho- OH WHO AM I KIDDING? COME WIN THE HEISMAN IN 2017.
Can Fournette and Peppers share the Heisman? No? Well, maybe they'll each win two...
Recruitniks: Still creepy
not gonna lie, some of the people on this site are bordline pedophiles over this shit... some... which makes the content managers akin to pimps...
am I right?
I'm not sure if pedophile is the right word for it, but the people who follow these recruits on twitter and such really need to reevaluate their lives (besides those getting paid to do so).
The people who feel the need to mention their phallus and how it is reacting to the recruiting news would be borderline.
kinda my point...
obviously pedophile is a little hyperbole... but creepy fits a few people and exploiting the kids is how recruiting services make their money....
Why would the enablers any better than those soaking up the recruiting news?
pedophile is a rather specific definition that doesn't really come close to online stalking. Stalker may be more accurate, but I think you're being a little dramatic.
"Pedophile" should be a new entry on your list of words to look up in the dictionary.
Considering the fact that your avatar says "PREPARE THY ANUS," this looks like a big bunch of projection.
Sounds like a great kid! All the best young man -- Go Blue!
If I were invited I would be excited, but since I am just a dude in an office, on a Thursday, I can't say I feel much at all about a bunch of kids eating sauced cooked meats 600 miles from where I will be this weekend.
Hope they have fun though.
Not sure what my excitement level is. I think it's a great event for recruiting, but I don't get the impression anyone that would get me really excited is on the verge of commiting over the weekend. Maybe I'm waiting for the next update to know for sure who is going to be there. I'm a little bummed that Hand (based on what I think I had heard) can't make it. If the top 3 players in the country were all getting together for a few days in Ann Arbor this weekend, THEN I would be really excited.
I wonder what's on the menu and who's doing the Q'ing
Will Dr. Hamlet III be attending?
I hope not, for his sake. Usually a pig being at a BBQ doesn't bode well for the pig.
You could say he'll be the main attraction.
Are they actually barbecuing or just grilling?
I'm getting BBQ tonight, that's exciting. The BBQ at the big house? About as excited as a self respecting not obsessed with high schoolers decisions when they are two years out and team 134 is almost a month away, fan can be. Don't get me wrong, I would love for all 5 star recruits to come here, but the recruiting stuff is kinda creepy sometimes.
I might be wrong, but I don't really foresee anyone getting offered this weekend. The most likely guys to get offered are 2016 kids (Desmond Fitzpatrick, Dele Harding, etc.), but it's still early to offer most of those guys, who are entering their sophomore years.
Lorenz over at 247 is saying that we aren't really on "Commit Watch" but you know, anything can happen once these kids get on campus and see what the city, the university and the progam have to offer.
It will be interesting to see who might get offered and some of the reactions from some of these highly-touted kids.
I'm looking at you, Lenny...
Of who is attending, yet?
but seems like a lot of top end guys i was hoping would attend wont be able to make it...guys like Hand, Settle, Peppers, McDowell, Nicholson, Smith, etc....
Mr RR. Sorry. I know that is obvious, but he's on sportscenter right now.
This could be a monster weekend.
is who's providing the BBQ. I've had some craptastic BBQ in A2 this summer.
Bad BBQ should be avoided at any cost.
According to rivals Fournette may not be coming after all. Steve Lorenz on 24/7 said the visit may be in jeopardy too.
But Sam Webb just retweeted this:
So who knows what's going on.
that Michigan's definition of "BBQ" lives up to the expectations of Fournette and Campbell. None of this hot dogs and burgers bullshit.
It's real BBQ, not hot dogs and hamburgers. There was an article on it last summer.
As long as it is not an NCAA violation, they should have the BBQ catered by Slow's. Their pulled pork would bring in a Hand-ful of commits at least...Pun intended.
1. When did we have about 40 visitors? I expected this to be more for the deshawn hands of the world.
2. Why are all of the big name recruits most likely not coming? Fournette, Nicholson, Jackson? I at least thought there was marginal Michigan interest.
