Nice story but more importantly how's your health? How's your birthday wish goal progressing?

The big 3-0 was Thursday, upon which I immediately experienced an inflamed prostate and received samples from Hair Club for Men.
I'm not sure of the final tally I raised, but I'm going to guess it was in the $10K range at least. :)

...Darius Morris and his friendship with Dan Tan help to remind us that first and foremost, the people who play the sports we obssess about are humans.

A good story, but I feel like it would've been written 10x more poignantly by someone at Outside the Lines or something similar. You could tell it was a touching story, but the writing didn't really do it justice.

I think the article did the story justice. It chronicled a very sad series of events without belaboring anything or sinking into melodrama. It informed us of some very fine personality triats that Morris has while giving us some insight into a burden he carries far too early, simply by telling the story.
I don't need dirge-like music or overblown TV production. I don't need "journalists" shoving microphones in people's faces while they are grieving and asking them, "can you tell us how you feel right now," while eagerly awaiting their reactions on camera. This story was tastefully done without crossing the line of making people relive their pain.
There is still a place for subtle writing which allows the story to tell itself without embellishment. This article is a great example.

Thanks Mike.

A very touching, extremely poorly written article.

Geez, what a touching story. Great story. Really shows Darius' character. He's always been a favorite.
Do you guys really need to take the time to criticize the writing? Take it for what it is, a truly inspirational story.

In the great debate over what exactly makes one a "Michigan Man", I have always held to the notion that, "You'll know it when you see it." Other words that describe Darius in so many ways, "Leader" and "Champion" do not do him justice. You know it when you see it.

I am very proud Darius Morris is a Michigan Man; even more so after reading this article.

I'm proud of Dan Tan. Embodies what people claim a "Michigan Man" should be, in spirit if not in name.
