Just moved out of my campus house. Living at home with the 'rents, jobless while I finish med school applications. There's a big void in the "meaning" part of my life just waiting be filled by football.

Every year it's the same thing for me.  I do alright without football until there are two weeks to go and then I get the itch.  There's not a lot to lose in the first game, so here's hoping the Wolverines take the nation by storm and leave it all out on the field in Dallas.  Not many think Denard can win the Heisman, but doesn't he have a tremendous opportunity?  If he performs against Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin in the Big 10 title game, who can deny him?  It all starts Sept 1st though.....

that feeling's coming back. you know, that nervous, gut-wrenching feeling in your stomach. the one that makes you pace back in forth in front of your tv and scream every obscenity imaginable on a bad call from a ref, or a dropped pass. i wait all year for that feeling. football is upon us.

You deserve 'em and then some. Hate to thread/post hijack, but I just read that a SEAL that was killed in Afghanistan is coming home on Monday, and the route that his procession will take to from Gerald R. Ford Airport to  the funeral home is going go right past my house. That will be a truly sobering thing to see. I'm getting nose sweat just thinking about it. I hope and pray that those Westboro assholes won't be here. I just might go to jail that day.

my wife will be waking me up off the liviing room floor and demanding to know why there are two empty whisky bottles on the floor next to me? why the cat has been duct taped to the ceiling? and why both the tv and the computer screen are covered in various bodily fluids?

I will tell her we won.
