Ex-Wolverines Who Have Guest-Starred on TV Shows

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

MVictors has a cool piece up about when Our Next Coach Jim Harbaugh appeared on "Saved by the Bell" back in 1994 (and you have to see this):

Which got me to thinking: What other former Wolverines have played themselves on a TV show? I can think of Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch on "The Munsters":

Tom Brady on "Entourage":

Who or what am I forgetting?

Dhani hasn't merely guest-appeared on TV... he has starred on mutlple TV shows.  That one where he was doing sports in other countries, I think that's what you're referencing, that was fantastic.  Wish that had been continued.  He's such a great guy, and seeing foreigners reacting to him -- big black American 'footballer' -- was priceless, he got such positive and surprised reactions from people.  Plus he usually found these foreign sports were tough as all effing hell to play.

He's got some new show on too, plus he's had gigs on BTN.  ALthough, I suppose who hasn't.

but I think he was uncredited. He had speaking lines and all. Harbaugh was also on "How do they do it" (kind if like a more in depth How It's Made) back when he was coaching San Diego. It was about footballs and he was explaining how to throw one. He was very charismatic and nothing like you see him now most times. Very open, light & seemed (dare I say) happy to be doing it.

But James Worthy played a Klingon on Star Trek: TNG, I always thought that was several degrees of awesome.

Also, vaguely remember Desmond Howard doing a cameo on some sitcom right after he was Super Bowl MVP

Actually, Desmond had guest / cameos on "Linving Single" and "Everybody Loves Raymond" as I recall. I could be wrong as it has been forever ago in both cases, but I think he was himself on "Everybody Loves Raymond" and a slighly fictionalized version of himself (in this case, an NFL commentator) on "Living Single".

Good to see Harbaugh has acting to fall back on if nobody wants him as their coach. /s

So Gisele cooks? Who knew?

...then went into the Marines and transferred to Michigan where he was the only athlete to ever earn four letters in a single year (football, basketball, track, and baseball).

Hirsch is in the Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor.

Jon Runyan has a cameo as a contruction worker in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, in the America's Next Top Paddy's Billboard Model episode.  Unfortunately, not as a beefcake model, just as a construction worker.  GreenMan attempts to throw a ball at his nuts.
