Really want Jeremy Clark to succeed after that.  My high school was also criminally under-recruited (is that a word? i dunno), and he seems very dedicated.

Makes a decent case for allowing official visits earlier than the fall of senior year.  At least, say, the summer before.  It wouldn't solve everything but it'd help.  I know that camps are supposed to be open to all without any preference for recruits vs. non-recruits, etc. but I don't see why the NCAA can't allow teams to have, say, a separate weekend set aside for official visits to be combined with workouts.

It's off this topic, but the University of Alabama reported today on al.com that they have committed 44 secondary ncaa rule violations over a two year period. That's a litte excessive, isn't it? The football team committed 16 of them, saying it was minor things like "impermissible text messages" and of course, Saban bumping into people like Barry Sanders Jr.
