I forgot how good Higdon looked last year. Also, seeing how close we were to winning those 3 games makes me sad.

So does the team surpass that amount this year?

37.4 ppg

I'm leaning no. Reasons:

-Tougher o.o.c. schedule, defensively (due to Florida)
-Goal-line package takes a step back (no Peppers/Wildcat)
- No more mostly-automatic Kenny Allen.
- No more hilarious defensive 2-pt conversions

Nordin's leg looks stronger, based on the ONE pressure-free FG we saw in the spring game. But we have no idea about his consistency or composure.

Aside from one bad game, Kenny was clutch:

19 of 23. Long of 51. 83%

I'm glad we have the #1 kicker in the country to replace Kenny, but I'm still taking the under.

Sad, yet optimistic.  Watching this reinforced how they routinely destroyed most of their opponents on their schedule last year.  They were a few plays away from winning all thirteen games.  This season could be the prelude to 2018 National Champions.

I know Rich Rod and Hoke years were terrible, but personally this was the most depressing season ever.  That kickoff return allowed at the end of the FSU game was just too much for me.  I can't take another season like that this year.

I was crushed by that missed tackle, especially by a guy like Jordan Glasgow. Losing 3 out of the last 4 by 5 pts sucked. I was sky high going into Iowa tho and was confident going into all of them, that's a good step in the right direction. That being said, I fully expect to go undefeated at home in 2017 and can't see a loss to PSU with their wing and a prayer offense against Don Brown's D.

striking how much we hammered the football into the endzone - from guys that are returning like Evans, Higdon, Isaac and Hill. More highlights running it in for scores from these guys versus passing or from Smith. I think we can replicate 2016 offense if Wilton has a good year and the OL is no worse. The other thing - special teams were superb. We may have a bit of a fall-off there depending on how clutch these new kickers are and who will replace Peppers in punt returns. Allen was a rock and JP was dynamic plus made no muffs. Where we may see more scoring highlights is from the defense, which will looks faster and more aggressive in 2017. Really like our safeties and LB/Viper units making some plays behind a DL that will be elite.

Nitpickers gonna nitpick, but I'd have been happy with a reel of all the TDs and the Peppers conversion return. By the time the Hawaii portion was finished, I'd already seen more than enough extra points to satisfy.

And may the football gods please not make us miss our first PAT of the season now to get back at me
