Ever wonder what the scoreboard controller looks like?

I think I am adding very little value with these last few posts, but who knows, someone might be interested :)
That better get replaced with the new scoreboards. I mean, come on. McDonald's has newer technology than that.
but that's a pretty typical scoreboard controller.
... give me a rash when I hear them used together.
At least is has less pictures on it than a McDonald's keypad.
I hadn't been to a McDonald's in probably 10 years but I stopped into one last summer while traveling and I have to admit that I was impressed with the facility. The kitchen was a very open/transparent, clean, modern and the workers moved with efficiency while juggling the customers at the drive through & walk up counters. It reminded me more of an operating room than the traditional fast-food burger joint.
As for the scoreboard, I have to admit that I expected a picture of an old hermit living up in the cramped quarters of the scoreboard, reaching out a slot to hang up the numbers after each touchdown.
That last paragraph reminds me of Fenway:
Or Wrigley:
Fenway is exactly what i was thinking of.
Why on earth couldn't all of these goofy ass factoids be put into one thread?
In his defense, if he had all these pics and comments in one post, there'd be another group bitching about it being bloated and what not. That doesn't change the fact that they are goofy ass factoids though.
i was hoping something like the computer screens in Minority Report
Ahhh......The good ol' 5000 model, given to anything in the 80s and 90s when a company wanted to sound 'high tech'
Another example:
That user interface would have been state-of-the-art in the mid-'80s.
Yeah, good job photoshopping the corner of the endzone in that picture of your junior high scoreboard controller, you hack. You are a liar and I know this for a fact because I have a picture of the REAL controller right here:
I believe that's the same controller I used to use to run score boards at the little league I worked at growing up.
That's part of the current line of Daktronics controllers.

Scoreboards are still displaying the same information, so I guess there's no need for a brand-new line of scoreboard controllers.
It clearly is 10% better than ours.
Thanks for posting this stuff OP. Some might not like all this stuff, but I for one love learning more about the inside workings of Michigan Stadium. Keep up the good work!
we do need an upgrade
that's pretty standard equipment, and pretty new.
Where's the BIG BLUE BUTTON that launches Denard?
an Atari 2600 at the Big House...
I loved that system. Nothing beat Combat - 50 different ways for two players to shoot each other!
I heard all the piped in rawk music is played through this:
Confirm/Deny
That brings back memories
I say keep on with the random ass factoids!
More factoids! Rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble....
I was expecting a hot chick with big boobs.
I've operated one of those before, they'd have me do the scoreboard for my high school's baseball games when I wasn't on the field, confusing as hell at first, but then I got the hang of it.
At least the video banner below the scoreboard is operated by a normal, nice computer.
...this one is actually pretty good as Stadium factoids go.
At least it won't get a BSOD.
