Events that disappointed more than the SI story
Soooooooooooo, that story totally sucked. Some other people got tats? Sweet. That was built up so much I can't believe how terrible it was. To pick up the mood, I thought it might be fun to list things that were built up and disappointed you more than the SI story.
For me, I can think of 2 things. 1) Prom. Geesh, that was a lot of money for a dance. It gets hyped up your whole life and then it really is just an average time. It is basically a party that you have anytime in HS, except you spend a lot of money on dinner and your clothes and there are teachers there instead of the parents being out of town.
2) Lost finale. That show was awesome, and then the finale episode revealed nothing. So many unanswered questions. I was pissed really at the whole finale season, but the last episode was the straw that broke the camels back.
What about my fellow Mgobloggers? Has anything disappointed you more than this incredibly over hyped story? Besides this thread, that is.

The 2007 season and the 2010 MSU game.
As a human being....
Radiohead's last album is up there.
Maine lobster. Dunno if it was just the restaurant or if I'm just not a lobster guy, but for $30+ it was extremely bland.
I have to agree with you about Maine lobster. I personally like the lobster I can catch out here on the west coast better than Maine lobsters.
Interesting comment. I thought TKOL ranked right up there with Amnesiac and OKC.
I like that they mostly don't appear to give a shit what anyone thinks - they just record what they want to. TKOL is a solid example (IMHE). Something of a departure from In Rainbows (which I thought was quite bad).
Anyway, it's too subjective a topic to treat in this forum, but I was intrigued by your inclusion of Radiohead.
I really enjoyed Amnesiac and OKC, but also liked In Rainbows.
King of Limbs did nothing for me. Two listens and I haven't touched it since.
King of Limbs gets much better. A lot of what's good about it is very subtle. Give it like 10 more listens.
Michigan fan.
Who know?
IMO, Lobster is only good if it is extremely fresh. Like caught the same day fresh. Anything else just doesn't cut it and I'm definitely not shelling out the money for something I know I'll only be disappointed about.
next time either mix vinegar in with the butter, or ditch the butter altogether and go with vinegar.
It is best when cooked in a bed of seaweed over hot coals on the beach, or at least boiled in saltwater with seaweed.
I live in Dallas, hence the name Dallas Wolverine. My neighbor two doors down is a huge tosu fan, I have not seen him in two days must be fuckinf that fat bitch he lives with and drunk. By the way his flag is down and mine if flying proud!
Hail to the Victors!
This thread reminds me of the board game "Things." If anyone is looking for a fun game, that's a great recommendation.
The new Lady Ga...dah, I mean the new [insert tough rap/rock album name].
This. Anyone hoping for a nuclear bomb was probably wasting their time. But this story does two things:
1) portrays the Ohio State program in one of the worst lights imaginable: associating with dirtbags and felons, Terrelle Pryor stealing from the equipment room (but everybody steals), smoking weed like it's their job, lying, backstabbing, and all the salacious embarrassing crap.
2) shows that the OSU admin wasn't telling the truth about "these are the only six players, there is no pattern of noncompliance here, we don't have a problem, no sir" - in fact, just the opposite was true: OSU football is practically defined by hanging out in tattoo parlors in the worst parts of town.
And SI has all the details and you can bet they'll be more than compliant when the NCAA comes ringing.
I'm comfortable calling the article a game changer because it shows OSU has had a systemic problem, but even still I think most people were expecting more because it seemed to prompt Tressel's dismissal.
It shows a lack of institutional control because it hasn't been going on with just a few current players, but jobs, money and perks since 2002.
This. plus its starting to make maurice Clarrett look like the Jose Canseco of O$U
The tatt thing is certainly sleazy. Ultimately, though, I don't think people care all that much that some kids sold jerseys for tatts. It's just not the biggest deal. And it doesn't suggest a competitive advantage.
Al Capone's Vault-
Lake Michigan had come pouring in.
Guiding players to Alumni who gave handouts, cars, players saying when they were recruited they heard about it from guys...hardly just memorabilia for tatts.
I was so hyped for that movie and was so disappointed.
