Evening / Late Night Games Open Thread
I was frankly shocked that no such thread was currently up as we're typically so conscious of the slate. No matter, a few notable ones:
Florida State / Oklahoma State - currently 10-0 FSU with the first quarter nearly over.
LSU / Wisconsin - this should be an interesting one. I think it is the only SEC / Big Ten game scheduled this season.
Oregon / South Dakota - Prediction? Pain. No, seriously, the line has Oregon winning by an amount yet to be computed.

Love the kicker's dance
August 30th, 2014 at 10:01 PM ^
Love the beer belly and the swagger. Like a typical Brazilian, he's having a good time.
August 30th, 2014 at 9:50 PM ^
That dance was the swaggiest thing I've seen a kicker do since the LSU punter got called for taunting. But serioulsy how does someone even know what football is as a freshman from Brazil?

New York is lacking in the arts ? Sure.
August 30th, 2014 at 9:53 PM ^
That's like saying Detroit is lacking in abandoned buildings.

Damnit. SEC speed.
August 30th, 2014 at 9:51 PM ^
Speed of the ESS EEE CEE

Way to blow a great 1st Q on one big play, Wisky
August 30th, 2014 at 9:52 PM ^
Statistically, at least to this point, it is exactly what you would think it is - about ten minutes into the game, 104 yards of offense, 98 of which are rushing yards. On a mere six attempts, that's a shade north of 12 yards per rush.
...and as I am typing that, Wsiconsin forgets about a guy who promptly takes a nice little pass rather a long way. In fact, to the end zone.

Not sour grapes. That looked like busted coverage and a lucky pass. Not lucky in the placement, but lucky in that it looked serendipidous.

we have to listen to Spielman for the W-LSU game.
He liked the playcall? LSU's score was a busted play!
Has he ever been good at this?

For a match-up of top 15s, he's the color guy? Was there a bigger game of ranked teams today? To be in this game, I would expect a top 3 color guy. He's not that.
He's fine when he's talking defensive play and scheme, but I still find myself wincing half of the time he talks.

Looks like Denard made the Jaguars roster.
Unofrtunately, Jeremy Gallon and Jordan Kovacs were cut. Also notbale: Max Bullough and Denicos Allen were cut too.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:02 PM ^
Terelle Pryor got cut yesterday. Soooo sad.

looks like.
Gordon looks amazing!

I think Wisconsin is well-coached. They seem to know their responsibilities quite well.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:02 PM ^
Their coach is very smiley too.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:02 PM ^
That was a late flag. Seemed ref threw it b/c of crowd reaction

It's because he doesn't play in the SEC.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:05 PM ^
He'll probably continue the trend of being drafted late in the second round. The RB draft stock in the NFL has seen unprecedented deflation in the past couple of years.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:03 PM ^
Gordon is better than Gurley? Hmm.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:03 PM ^
Thank God Spielman isn't a college professor. He thinks Melvin Gordon is one of the best RB in NCAA, but gave him a bunch of Bs and Cs.

I had more than prof that inconsistent back in the LS&A
August 30th, 2014 at 10:09 PM ^
Chances are, you were graded by a TA, like me, and not your prof.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:13 PM ^
I seemed to get lucky and always have good TA's. But a few of the upper level classes I had right with the professor were the ones I can recall as there being a disconect with announced expecations and grades.

For the record, I was bashing Spielman's ability to be a college professor, not an announcer. That said, I stand by my statement that f Chris Spielman was teaching a college course, it would probably not go well. Unless it was something related to football. He could probably do that okay.
McShay's grades were probably in relation to the NFL, then, which makes more sense.

Seems like Wisconsin could stick to the run game and just demoralize LSU by the 4th Q.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:05 PM ^
Gordon HS rankings just for kicks
Four-star recruit by Rivals and three-star by ESPN/Scouts Inc. and Scout ... No. 24 running back in the nation according to Rivals, No. 27 according to MaxPreps, No. 38 according to Scout and the No. 39 athlete according to ESPN/Scouts Inc

Damn nice throw on the run there.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:11 PM ^
Maybe he left the rabbit's foot at home tonight.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:12 PM ^
OK Staee quitely within 7 of FSU in 3rd Q. FSU inside the 20 though. Going for FG.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:14 PM ^
"Staee" is unique and sacred.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:15 PM ^
I either misspell it or completely omit it ;)
August 30th, 2014 at 10:15 PM ^
There is only one "Staee".
There is no reason for us to doubt the spelling ability of the good folks of Stillwater.

Wisconsin's QB just tried to Arm Punt.

Good weekend for the Big Ten 12-1 so far. Only Northwestern has lost.
