Evening / Late Night Games Open Thread

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

I was frankly shocked that no such thread was currently up as we're typically so conscious of the slate. No matter, a few notable ones:

Florida State / Oklahoma State - currently 10-0 FSU with the first quarter nearly over.

LSU / Wisconsin - this should be an interesting one. I think it is the only SEC / Big Ten game scheduled this season.

Oregon / South Dakota - Prediction? Pain. No, seriously, the line has Oregon winning by an amount yet to be computed.

That FG kicker is a weapon. Nice leg and accuracy. 10-0 BIG vs. SEC a good start. This may, depending on how the season goes, be one of the more important non-Michigan games.

That dance was the swaggiest thing I've seen a kicker do since the LSU punter got called for taunting. But serioulsy how does someone even know what football is as a freshman from Brazil?

Statistically, at least to this point, it is exactly what you would think it is - about ten minutes into the game, 104 yards of offense, 98 of which are rushing yards. On a mere six attempts, that's a shade north of 12 yards per rush.

...and as I am typing that, Wsiconsin forgets about a guy who promptly takes a nice little pass rather a long way. In fact, to the end zone.

Not sour grapes.  That looked like busted coverage and a lucky pass.  Not lucky in the placement, but lucky in that it looked serendipidous.

USC continuing to exact revenge on Fresno State for almost beating them in 2005. The one USC home game I attended when I lived down there. It was amazing. Fresno State never recovered.

we have to listen to Spielman for the W-LSU game.

He liked the playcall?  LSU's score was a busted play!

Has he ever been good at this?

For a match-up of top 15s, he's the color guy?  Was there a bigger game of ranked teams today? To be in this game, I would expect a top 3 color guy.  He's not that.

He's fine when he's talking defensive play and scheme, but I still find myself wincing half of the time he talks.

Looks like Denard made the Jaguars roster.

Unofrtunately, Jeremy Gallon and Jordan Kovacs were cut.  Also notbale: Max Bullough and Denicos Allen were cut too.

For the record, I was bashing Spielman's ability to be a college professor, not an announcer. That said, I stand by my statement that f Chris Spielman was teaching a college course, it would probably not go well. Unless it was something related to football. He could probably do that okay.

McShay's grades were probably in relation to the NFL, then, which makes more sense.
