Husker fans could care lesss that it's 2 time zones away.

They've got nothing else.

NW needs to water their field. That field likes a nice combo of brown/light green. I guess they had to sacrafice for the new uni's and watering the field was put on hold.

looks quite bad there.

LSU is having its way with the Huskies. Les's team looks hungry.

Of the 9 games that have been decided, the B1G is 5-4. Need the huskers to pull this one off.
September 8th, 2012 at 8:29 PM ^
They are on the road and missing 4 defensive starters. Still wish we had played a home-and-home with them.

If UCLA is stout on D and keeps the margin within single digits, one data point in the Yes column.
Martinez 92 yard TD run. Oh UCLA.
September 8th, 2012 at 8:31 PM ^
Jordan Zumwalt brought a Kovacs-esque "tackle of death" type stop there....not bad.
By the numbers, up until that Martinez run for a TD, UCLA had actually been besting Nebraska in this game. If Hundley and the UCLA offense could get a rushing game together, this could be a decent offense all-around.

Devin Lucien with a nice grab for UCLA.
September 8th, 2012 at 8:35 PM ^
is looking good so far for UCLA

Devin Funchess will be Rob Gronkowski, but FAST!!!
edit- sorry, thought i was still in the "freshmen contributions" thread.

References to a Devin is applicable in any thread because, as we all know, everyone's a Devin at heart

My take, Nebraska doesn't have the talent to be consistently good. They're basically Iowa, but wearing red.
September 8th, 2012 at 8:49 PM ^
I think they'll be a bit more talented year in and year out than Iowa.
September 8th, 2012 at 9:06 PM ^
I think Nebraska is more on the Wisco level of talent, where they recruit just below elite status. It will be interesting to see if they continue recruiting the state of Texas or if their move to the BigTen moves their recruiting base toward the generally weaker midwest.
September 8th, 2012 at 9:10 PM ^
but its never prevented us from getting elite results
September 8th, 2012 at 9:23 PM ^
Wasn't Osbrone getting elite level talent when you guys were winning national championships?
September 8th, 2012 at 9:34 PM ^
pretty much top 25, never a top 5
Our best recruiting classes were when the genius Callahan screwed up the program

September 8th, 2012 at 9:15 PM ^
They are lucky that UCLA's D is not very good either.

At Nebraska they like to party a lot, and go to class very little. That's what I learned from that ad

Nebraska's first play on offense results in a fumble. UCLA ball. Converting a 3rd down will have to wait for a Nebraska offense that is beating itself really - the Bruins defense certainly isn't doing that.
Also, Brett Hundley is having a nice game - by himself, he has managed 250 total yards against the Cornhusker defense.
September 8th, 2012 at 10:00 PM ^
Joey Harrington in the Fox Studio at the half. This is not good.

commentators praising the "physicality" of the UCLA defense. Those two things do not go together.
September 8th, 2012 at 10:25 PM ^
The holding penalty aside, which incidentally gets Nebraska its first 3rd down conversion, the fact that corners are getting to Martinez on an otherwise tradionally ho-hum UCLA defense is very impressive.
