Florida/Tenn is wrapping up, so to stay on the front page, we (hopefully) have a good night of games with OSU/Miami and Okla/FSU headlining. Ahhhhh, football season.
Evening Games Open Thread
I hope Miami murders OSU tonight.
I do too! Terrelle Pryor would understand if OSU got murdered, because afterall...Everyone kills people....
I can't wait for Florida State to upset Oklahoma... Their defense is crushing. However, they are 1-5 against #1 teams.
Show OSU how a dirty program is suppose to play.
Still early but Illinois looks decent against a ranked ASU. Offense seems to be moving the ball. Scheelhause definitely reminds me of somebody to a lesser degree.
This post reminds me of something that happened to somebody somewhere.
Well that's a good start for Miami.
Will this game even count?
If the Miami RB can catch his balance, he scores there.
The first one is a backup QB who didn't play at all last week. LOL
this is weird....I have never rooted for Miami before.......GO CANES
ND actually looked really good against MSU. I think we have a pretty good chance ofbeing 8-0 when we hit Iowa.
with maize colored glasses but I appreciate your enthusiasm.
It is not a terribly unrealistic prediction. All the upcoming games should be easy wins with the exception of NU and MSU. NU lost to Army today and I don't think they are as good as most people were thinking before the season. MSU will be very tough especially on the road , but we have a hope of pulling out a win.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves and call these easy games. SDSU scares me given our deficiencies on both sides of the ball. Also, due to the past 3 seasons, I will never, ever, ever discount a B1G opponent.
How much did Persa play? I didn't catch the game; I just saw "Persa will be available if needed..." on espn's crawler.
Persa did not play.
I was actually rooting for michigan state, because then Lou Holtz would not be able to predict a BCS game for them.
With how they're giving the ball away like a gift, I doub;t they'll beat USC, Navy, and def. not Stanford.
Why is Jacory Harris not suspended?
He was suspended for one game.
I think he paid back the money or something so his suspension was only 1 game
For Miami, Jacory Harris starting is like a suspension.
Bowzer tries to Denard the Miami D...yeah not so much.
The Bauserman Experience might be over much sooner than we think.
ugh hankins, why couldnt you show more for rr to offer early
SDSU losing to Washington St 17-14 in the 4th. Is this the team Kyle turley says is gonna kick our asses?
I'd imagine losing the coaching staff that took you to a bowl in years would negatively effect the team.
Thing is, the defensive staff I believe is still pretty much in tact isn't it? Rocky Long is now the HC, who else came with Brady on the defensive staff?
wow, kind of unexpected. Feeling a lot more confident watching OSU struggle like this a week after Toledo.
I heard that there is a giant hammer just hovering over the Miami-OSU game. Can anyone confirm this?
This guy acts and sounds like the Slap-Chop guy.
Now if OU can keep FSU irrelevant, it will be a perfect day.
They can certainly prove me wrong but I think it's a joke that Florida State is ranked that high. They have been getting the Notre Dame treatment in that they have a ton of hype for beating a bunch of unranked teams last year.
Why do I have a feeling we are all watching a game that the NCAA will tell us in 2-3 years never happened. I am really tired of trying to erase all the memories the NCAA tells me I don't actually have.
Braxton intercepted in his first throw. Nice.
ohio state is looking pretty crappy right now
AND I LOVE IT!
Jacory Harris is king of the interception.
Jacory Harris is not a good Division 1-FBS quarterback.
Hey Braxton: The "unleash the dragon" meme about Rex Grossman is a SATIRE....
Looking forward to Oklahoma-Florida State game.
If I asked if there have been any Jenn Sterger sightings yet?
needz moar physical
You guys make it sound like the OSU-Miami game means something. It's not like either team is going to keep the win.
Run D is not very good......kind of like ours.
Run D is not very good......kind of like ours.
Holy fucking hell... Just saw that Georgia Tech had 600 yards rushing and 770 total yards against Kansas. It was tied 14-14 when I saw the score last.
is absolutely terrible. Nowhere close to how they were a few years ago.
Love the offsetting personal fouls. Dirty is as dirty does.
Lane Kiffin is actually going to kick the extra point.
Damn, crazy run in the Florida State game. Great balance.
Jacorey Harris still sucks... Two god awful passes. Just terrible.
too bad no one intercepted this purchase.......or donation
Time to warm up Stephen Morris.
is hanging tough.
How does a kicker end up with a broken hand?
OSU has no QB
remains to be seen
Russell Maryland turned into one of the Klumps....
Still think OU will win, but Florida St. is definitely much improved.
Sandwhiched with two helmet-to-helmet hits, that has to hurt.
Feel bad for the dude. He just froze up right after that hit and was obviously unconscious. Scary shit man...
the kid is ok, but I didn't see a penalty there.
Agreed. Let em play football.
... That was two helmet to helmet hits. Those were both obvious, obvious calls.
helmet to helmet contact is unavoidable. I didn't see anythig malicious there. Just because a guy gets hurt doesn't mean the play was dirty.
It was unfortunate but neither player dipped their head. Shaw went low, they stayed the same. You couldn't recreate that play again if you wanted to. It was a freak thing. It happens in football.
BTW, for those of you who call a post flamebait because you disagree........ Very childish.
If you are not watching the game...........he is ok
Glad to hear he's ok. That was really scary. I agree too not a dirty play and was surprised by the penalty call.
Prayers go out to Kenny Shaw from FSU. That did not look good at all. Hope he is ok
For an immobile statue Bauserman has very poor accuracy
I can't believe how bad he is.
He might be slow, but at least he doesn't throw well.
He just made Joey Harrington look mobile.
John Navarre could easily beat him in a foot race.
OSU has had some bad quarterbacks, but Bauserman might be the worst one.
Fickell looks like a babysitter or teenager put in charge for the first time. Not sure if the kids will take him seriously
how BIG did Bauserman f up by not sticking with baseball?
Thought he went back to football because he sucked at baseball.
"Jacory Harris got the start because he is the better game manager"
Braxton Miller is a mess too.
OSU has 13 passing yards on the night.
We are a loooong way from this quality of play. Just watching these teams play defense is a treat. Great football.
Is Ohio State's offense comparable to how awful our defense was last year?
Just a terrible game, on both sides. It's hard to believe the loss of Terrelle Pryor and the others, and Tressel, can make such a difference. I thought they were a deep team.
Let's not give the OSU QBs all the attention. When your QBs are 2/15 with both completions to RBs, and your O-Line has been playing fairly well, the WRs have also not been doing their job as well. Can't get open at all.
Like a deer in the headlights to me. Very tentative passing and slow afoot. Miller is just tooooooo inexperienced. I can see OSU losing a few. Hope we are on the list.
Difficult to decide which team has the more terrible QB.
Harris is an INT machine kind of like Drew Tate or an ND quarterback
Bauserman is like on par with Steven Threet, only worse because OSU's receivers are decent and he still can't hit them or get away from pressure.
If the NCAA had any sense they'd just strike this game from the record books for this season
Sometimes I think Jacory Harris has a mental disorder akin to prosopagnosia, but instead of not being able to recognize faces, he is unable to recognize clothing. If you were to view the field through his eyes you'd just see a bunch of naked, jersey-less players running amok. This is why he throws so many horrible interceptions.
Brandon Inge just called and wants to know if Bauserman would like to borrow some percenatge points
Ohio State's offense is completely incoherant
USF played Florida A&M, not Florida Atlantic.
What the??? Is Troy mounting a comeback against Arkansas?
Illini battled back taking the lead over ASU. Less than a minute left, UI ball.
pretty good. Didn't see much from their Offense, but I was in and out of that one
I thought they were pretty aggressive from what I was able to catch...but ASU looks very overrated. Time will tell on UI. Offense doesn't look very scary, but their RB Ford looked like a solid, tough runner.
OSU looks absolutely terrible for the second week in a row. Slow, confused, tired, terrible terrible offense. Wow. I wonder how much of a difference we'll see when Posey returns to the lineup.
They are terrible. Rotweiler or whatever his name is, is a big lug.
That's twice Harris should have been picked on this drive alone.
For fun I flipped between 97.1 (Valenti is getting tweets and he's not even there) and WJR, where the host is going with the meme "the better team lost today" in the MSU-ND game today. HALOL.
Delusion is the only way to describe their reality.
I heard that! It was great. Callers kept calling in trying to get an explanation of why in a 31-13 game, the better team lost, and he kept going over why they lost. (A.k.a., why they're not as good). Then in the next breath, started yapping about how the D "Lit Up" ND, and as good as MSU's D is, ND still hung 31 on them because they're awesome. Then he proceeded to explain how awesome, yet alas, in the end, the better team lost.
When you get beat 31-13 it's mighty hard to play the "the better team won" card.
Ohio State isn't using their 3 timeouts. Fickell giving up on his team.
His chance to coach the team.
Even after losing today, Dantonio is probably happy about getting closer to coaching OSU.
What the fuck is Fickell doing with his time management? Is he aware that he has 3 time outs?
Wow, Luke Fickell is straight surrendering here. Pretty pathetic, should bring some entertaining drama
Should bring some fun times on Columbus radio this week.
Only at Miami do the home fans stream for the exits when their team is about to score a TD to secure an upset victory.
Canes were a 3 point favorite and are a better team.
but slower and less accurate. In 33 seconds, they'll be just 4 undefeated Big 10 teams left
Bauserman = Death?
You don't wear a goatee by any chance, do you?
Must be livid at the the clock mismanagement and the fact that Miami closed out the game largely running it down their throat. Fun for most others though.
5.7 yards a carry for 240 yards on the ground. That defense isn't looking very impressive thus far.
Yup. tsio isn't looking so hot right now. I'm thinking they're very vulnerable this year, there's hope for a win in November.
He's Mike James, bitch.
will be great this week
I'm already looking forward to the OSU-MSU game. OSU will still be without the tat-5. The fans of the loser of that game will go bat-shit crazy.
College football, UFC, then Mayweather - Ortiz? What a night for sports fans.
Roughly what time is the Mayweather fight?
Sometime between 11:15pm (east coast) and 11:30pm.
with Fickel's time management I certainly hope he sticks around for a few years. hahahahahahahahaha. I guess he thought that he could take those into the next game. hahahahahahahaha. Down goes little bro to ND who still gave up the ball 5 times and tsio looked horrible. I love it
I think I speak for most Michigan fans when I say, "HIRE LUKE FICKELL!"
We could have gone for the trifecta.
23 passing yards? Not even 1 touchdown? :)
And every completion was to a RB. Wow.
So is it safe to say Les Miles manages a clock better than Fickell?
"Okay, guys. We're down 11. There's 2 minutes left and we have a chance to make a 4th and 1 goal line stand. Do that, and with two time-outs still in our pocket, we might be able to throw a few bombs, make the end zone, convert two, onside kick and hit a long field goal for overtime. I know it's a long shot, but it might be possible.
LOL! JK! We're screwed. Give up."
Fickell will be eviscerated in the papers tomorrow. Not for losing, but for playing switcheroo with his QB's and not giving it everything for a chance to win. Guy GAVE UP with 2 minutes and 3 time outs in the bank.
Brian's going to love that.
Utah/BYU and Stanford/Arizona, not so bad. Okie St-Tulsa...eh.
That's the TD FSU needed!
Did that really just happen? What a lucky throw by the FSU QB.
Crowd is going NUTS! Wow. He needed that lucky throw because he's been getting absolutely murked all game. I wasn't sure if FSU had an o-line with how bad they are getting manhandled.
I was thinking the same thing. Great lineup of Saturday night games so far this year.
Can't imagine FSU comes back from that one even with 7 minutes left.
So many jump balls in this Oklahoma Flordia State game, reminds me of last week.
Hemingway should get more opportunities like that
Isn't Stoops supposed to be coaching Notre Dame? Or was it Michigan? Or is it OSU?
This is a gem.
Stoops watching their final (ugly) field goal.
Images of Kenny Stills, and Sammy Watkins in a winged helmet make me a little sad inside...
I thought Florida State was ranked way too high but this was still a great game. FSU's kicking was impressive. Their FG kicker made a 47 yard field goal that looked like it would have been good from 60 yards. They also got off a 69 yard punt.
Oklahoma's defense is insanely good. I'd be thrilled if our D was half as good as that.
