To the other live blog mods: I apologize for ditching you, but my Internet crashed and is still down (thank goodness for iPhone). It must have been awful whenever Indiana was on the field.

The ESPNNEWS CFB Overdrive crew is jizzing themselves cuz of denard.  Actually one of them is Jon Ritchie - former Michigan player who transferred to Stanford.

They think MSU is a much better team.  And now they're fawning over the Sparties.

Alright, after a slightly unusual hour break in the schedule the night games are about to get started.  Usually there's a game starting at 6 or 7 but all I had on TV from 7-8 was Georgia losing to Colorado.  CU is up 14-3 early in the 2nd now.

Since this thread is already knocked off the front page I suggest we start a new Open Thread at the end of the 1st quarter.

There are probably going to be a lot of threads complaining about the defense, so a new thread at the end of the 1st quarter might let a lot of them get out of the way.

Edit: Or, let's move on over to jamie mac's night games thread now.

Dear Urban Meyer,

Trey Burton is not Tim Tebow and Nick Saban is not coaching another weak ass SEC team that you can run through a la 2006-08.  Learn to coach again and we'll talk.  Until then, I'd like a larger serpent to swallow this stadium whole.  Actually, all of Alabama too.  Can I get the South in general included in that?

Anyone else catch major ESPN gaffe?  While slobbering over how solid Iowa is (while, you know, beating Penn State), they said that it is so important for Iowa's upcoming schedule that they get Michigan at home.  Err, wait, something seems wrong about that.

Penn State has been playing well on defense, though.  Iowa only has 17 points with seven minutes to go.  Alabama only scored 24 on them at home too.

While I don't think we'll go up and down the field on PSU, my confidence comes from my belief that we'll hit them for enough big plays (either from Robinson or our receivers) to keep the game out of their reach.

Oregon has a tendency to come out flat in big games.  Oregon looked good last year going into the Rose Bowl but seemed very flat against Ohio State.  They look very similar to that tonight.  They overlook other ranked teams it seems.

On the other hand they looked bad against Tenn until the 2nd half of that game too.
